Chair’s report on achievements in the past year
The report will be emailed to members and will be put on the website.The report includes the membership secretary’s and the treasurer’s reports.
Ros Weatherall recommended that the committee consider putting together a spending plan. This will be discussed at the next committee meeting.
There was a discussion on abandoned bikes as part of the review of cycle parking undertaken by Simon Banks and Andy Chivers. Members will be circulated the number to report abandoned bikes. The number is 0800 227676 and the website is:

Recommendations for revision of the constitution
The revisions to the constitution were considered.
Vision and objectives.
David Jaques suggested an addition around making cycling fun. Alison Hill will incorporate that and discuss at the next committee meeting.
Changes to the committee structure
The proposed changes were discussed. Paul Cullen and DJ both suggested that the committee should consist of a core executive group of officers, and co-opted members. The AGM voted on the proposed changes to the constitution. There was no vote against and 4 abstentions. The AGM therefore agreed to adopt the changes to the constitution and any further changes in the light of this evening’s discussion would be presented at the next AGM.

Discussion on the changes to Queen Street and on an east west and north south corridor. The presentations will be posted onto the website.
East West corridor
Cyclox policy is that there should be coherent cycle routes across the city. Richard Mann proposed creating a two way cycle route on Pembroke St to take it out of traffic circulation to bypass Queen Street.
Graham Paul Smith proposed a shared route along Queen Street rather than diverting round Pembroke Street. At busiest times cyclist will not wish to cycle down Queen Street and need an alternative route.
The group agreed that both of these options could both be promoted with the council, and suggested that Queen Street should only be closed to bikes at the weekends.
North South Cycle route.
Paul Cullen gave a presentation on his proposal for a north south route from the station up Rewley Road to the level of Cardigan Street, with a bridge across Castle Mill Stream and the canal. This would remove traffic from the canal towpath and allow access from Botley Road and the south to Jericho and the new Radcliffe Observatory site. There was overwhelming support for this approach.
