GRADING

ü  Class work/Labs: We will be doing numerous assignments in class. Make sure to get them completed and turned in to the homework bin.

ü  Homework: Will be given out periodically. It is due as soon as you walk in the door and must be handed-in in the homework bin (on my desk). Any homework received after the bell or a few days later will only receive half credit.

ü  Notebooks: Each student is to have a large 3 ring binder (again I would suggest at least a 2 inch binder). The binder is to have 5 labeled section dividers. All papers (from the entire semester) are to be stored in here. You will be graded on these every few weeks (worth 100 points each time). These need to stay neat and organized, because a binder check will be completed upon surprise.

ü  Tests: There will be numerous tests given in this class throughout the semester. You will receive about a weeks notice before any major test.

ü  Quizzes: During this class we will cover several topics that will be “quizzed” upon. Quizzes will be mini-tests that will review a small amount of information, but also help me checking for understanding. You will receive at least one day notice of quizzes, except for any open notes quizzes, which you will receive no notice for.

ü  Projects: There will be several projects assigned each marking period. Individual requirements/procedures will be handed out at different times throughout the year. Each will be worth over 100 points.

CHEATING

Cheating will not be tolerated in any form in this classroom. This is a very serious subject and will not be handled lightly.

If I see you look on another student’s paper for an answer, copy another student’s assignment or turn in another assignment that has the exact answers on it-YOU WILL RECEIVE A ZERO! No if, ands, or buts about it. Both the student copying and the person who gave the assignment to be copied will receive a zero. If you have questions about this or are not sure about this policy please ask. THIS IS PER SCHOOL POLICY.

ABSENTEE GUIDELINES:

If you are absent, it is your responsibility to get the work you missed and get it turned in. I will not come looking for you.

What to do if I am absent?

1.  Get someone “Today’s Activities” and copy it from yesterday.

2.  Make sure the homework that was due the day you were absent is turned in today.

3.  Get any worksheets/assignments you missed the day of your absence (from the shelf in the back of the room)

4.  Get all assignments turned in within 2 days of your absence. After 2 days, it’s marked late.

5.  Get any tests/quizzes made up with in 1 week of missing it. If you do not make it up with one week of missing it, a zero will go into your grade.

6.  After doing all of this if you still have questions, please ask
