BuffaloHospital, located on the western edge of the Twin Cities metro area in Buffalo, Minn., has twice been named as the Best Minnesota Hospital Workplace. BuffaloHospital has more than 400 employees, 180 physicians, and 34 staffed beds. It is a state-of-the-art facility with expanded or new facilities for emergency, urgent care, diagnostic imaging, surgery and outpatient center, cardiac center, sleep center and rehabilitation. The care team is noted for its passion in providing personalized, patient-centered care for nearly 66,000 inpatients and outpatients each year.
Responsibilities:
- Administrative Support to the Quality Department
- Maintain meetings schedule for Medical Staff Committees
- Coordinates agenda preparation for medical staff meetings
- Prepares medical staff meeting packets
- Attends medical staff meetings and takes minutes
- Maintains medical staff bylaws, rules, and regs, and medical staff policies
- Processes credentialing applications of Medical Staff and Allied Health Personnel which encompasses appointment, reappointment, and temporary privileges
- Preparesmonthly credentialing reports for the Board of Directors
- Maintains physician database
- Maintains medical staff rosters available to all hospital departments
- Facilitates the routing of quality peer reviews to appropriate physicians
- Fields calls and questions concerning medical staff related issues
- Provides information and/or directs questions to appropriate medical staff leader, Director of Medical Affairs, or appropriate senior management leader
- Provide secretarial support to medical staff leaders and department chairs
- Review and ensure continualcompliance of regulatory requirements as defined in CMS and Joint Commission Medical Staff Standards
Qualifications:
- BA/BS preferred, TechnicalCollege or 2 year degree is a minimum
- 3-5 years healthcare related experience required
- Experience with credentialing and knowledge of Medical Staff processes strongly preferred
- Experience with MS Office, Outlook, Visio, Visual Cactus, plus other applications as needed
- Demonstrated ability of excellent leadership and customer service skills, direct verbal and written communication/interpersonal and negotiation skills with physicians, care staff, leaders, patients and general public
- Ability to interact with a variety of clients; good initiative and follow through, with the ability to take projects from initiation through completion with minimal to no supervision; the ability to work independently with conflicting priorities; critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Restructure and manage assignments based on changing needs of the medical staff and hospital leadership
- Ability to work with system peers in order to meet the goals of the organization
- Confidentially and professional collegiality required
- Commitment to quality and discovering better ways of accomplishing tasks
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge base
- Promote a team environment and be outcome oriented
Licensure: CPCS/CPMSM preferred
