Health & Wellbeing

Measles, Chicken Pox and Shingles

Please may we ask for your co-operation on an important matter.

As you may remember, one of our pupils is receiving medical treatment for cancer which puts them at risk if they are exposed to measles, chicken pox or shingles.

Please let us know immediately if your child is suspected of having any of these conditions.

If your child falls ill with any of the above during the Spring Holiday could you please contact either parent directly. Mrs Livingstone – 07964 151 114 Mr Livingstone – 07878 145 434

Your child is not at any risk whatsoever from this situation. However, the health and wellbeing of our pupil who is at risk does depend on the co-operation of all other parents and we hope you can help us.

Staffing

The current vacancy we have for Depute Headteacher has been advertised and we received 17 applications for the post. Interviews will be held before the end of April.

Caroline Colhoun, Support for Learning Worker has resigned her post as she is moving outwith Glasgow. We would like to thank Caroline for her hard work and dedication to supporting our pupils and we wish her the very best for the future.

Currently Glasgow City Council are not replacing Mrs Colhoun, this will mean there is no additional supervision in the P1 – 3 playground before 9 am. We will return to the Janitor being the only presence in this playground before 9 am.

After the Spring Holiday we will welcome Elaine McPherson to cover the shortage in staffing we have been experiencing since January. Deborah Shenkin and Kenneth MacDonald will continue to cover teachers’ Non-Class Contact Time in P1 – 4.
