TITLE:STORY OF NEW JERSEY’S PINELANDS

DESCRIPTION: Presentation includes sights and sounds while taking students on a walk (indoors) to familiarize them with the Pinelands. Conversation will focus on the importance of water while highlighting the cultural, historic, and natural resources of the region. The goal of this program is to raise awareness, appreciation and further stewardship of the Pinelands by revealing this unique but fragile treasure.

TITLE:THE SCIENCE OF AQUATIC HABITATS

DESCRIPTION:Students will explore aquatic habitats of Barnegat Bay by learning how science is used to study water flow and water quality. Scientific principles and instruments used to measure water flow and water quality will be demonstrated and students will have the opportunity to use various sensors to measure water quality.

TITLE:TREE DETECTIVES

DESCRIPTION:Students will learn about trees found in and around North Dover Elementary School. Students will determine the age of their own "tree cookies" and then make their own tree cookiename tag, and see examples of local trees (bark, wood, leaves and seeds). An interactive game or scavenger hunt (weather dependent) will be included.
