NCC REPORT 2014-15
NCC is engaged in grooming the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens. The cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades. The motto of NCC is Unity and discipline. St. Thomas College NCC is the first Company under 23 Kerala Battalion. Since its beginning St.Thomas College NCC unit had its tremendous achievements in national and state level events. Our unit is one of the excellent Companies under Kerala and Lakshadweep directorates.
In this academic year we started our NCC activities on 5th June 2014. The Cadets celebrated world environment day by undertaking a tree plantation drive at college premises and planted 100 saplings. Our Company participated in the ceremonial parade in ThekkinkadMaidanduring the celebration of the 68th Independence Day of our nation. After this Principal Dr Jenson P O hoisted the national flag at the college after accepting guard of honour presented by our cadets. It was a colourfulyear of winning a lot of victories. CUO Sagar K Santhosh was selected in TSC Camp Delhi and has bagged second position in shooting. Sgt. Renjith Davis and L/Cpl Jovin Joy were selected to participate in Republic day parade in New Delhi. Sgt Renjith Davis was the Kerala Lakshadweep Contingent commander during the Republic day camp. This year our two Cadets have attended a national Integration camp, seven cadets have attended an Army attachment Camp, two cadets have attended a National Trekking Camp and 15 cadets have attended a CAWATC camp. On January 26, Principal Dr Jenson P O hoisted national flag at the college and received salutes from the cadets .Our SD and SW cadets participated in Prestigious march past competition at Swaraj round in connection with the Republic day celebration on January 26 and bagged prizes. A seminar on Traffic awareness and anti drugs was conducted for the cadets with the help of City Traffic Police on 7th February 2015.Truely it was successful and an eventful year for the NCC cadets at St.Thomas College Thrissur.
