Women For Education Announces Middle School Essay Contest
Women For Education announces an essay contest open to all Denver Public Schools middle school students, grades six through nine. The essays will appear in a coloring book titled, The ABC’s of Denver, set for publication in March and scheduled for release at a luncheon on March 23.
Each essay should be no more than 75 words in length and should give a concise and clever explanation for each Denver landmark included in the coloring book. All images included in this book were created by EastHigh School junior Erin Smith.
The list of the essay subjectsis included below. There is no limit to the number of essays students can submit. All work must be in the student’s original words.
There will be 26 winners – one for each letter. Prizes will be inclusion of essay in published coloring book with name credit given, recognition at our March luncheon where Superintendent Michael Bennet will be guest speaker, and a $15 gift certificate to Tattered Cover Bookstore.
Deadline for submission of the essays will be February 24. They can be submitted to or mailed to Women For Education at 2894 Albion Street, Denver, CO 80207. Please call Celeste Archer at 303-399-0479 with questions.

Mission Statement
The mission of Women for Education is to make a significant, positive impact on education in Denver by fundraising and providing support for programs that move toward excellence in education.
Membership
Founded by women of Denver with a grassroots connection, our membership includes a diverse group of women who reflect the demographics of Denver.
Goals
