1. Welcome, brief tutorial on Microsoft Lync functions

2. Follow-up from Oct. 24 meeting

· Kentucky Performance Rating for Educational Progress (K-PREP) scores released in November 2012 (where applicable)

o Did you look at your and your district’s K-PREP scores after they were released in November?

o Did you look at scores for other districts in your immediate area?

o Did you discuss your K-PREP score with your parents?

o What did you think about your score and your school’s and district’s scores?

Discussion: What can KDE do to better prepare students for the next round of K-PREP tests in spring 2013?

3. Discussion with Susan Hopkins, Director of Outreach for KHEAA/KHESLC, about college access preparation and questions about the higher education financial aid and/or admissions process.

4. Discussion with KDE’s Pat Trotter on competency-based learning.

5. Discussion on school safety

· What are your thoughts on how safe schools are?

· How can KDE, the Kentucky Board of Education and the Kentucky General Assembly improve safety for Kentucky’s schools?

· What could we do to avoid incidents similar to Newton, CT’s recent tragedy?
