Salary:NJC Scale: SO1: £27,945per annum (including London weighting)
for 35 hours p/week
Contract/Hours:Fixed term until the end of March 2017
35 hours per week (includes occasional evenings)
Location:Based at InSpire, Liverpool Grove, London SE17 2HH. Travel around the borough on a regular basis is also a requirement of the job.
Annual Leave:25 days per year plus bank holidays
Project Summary:InSpired to Work (ITW) works with young people (YP) aged 18-25, providing intensive support to overcome personal and skills related barriers to employment, training and volunteering. ITW focuses on supporting YP to develop pathways to achieving their career goals.
Job Summary:The Partnerships Coordinator will take the lead on the recruitment of local businesses to provide work placements and 1-2-1 mentoring through their employees for young people on the ITW Programme. They will manage ITW’s portfolio of employer support, support ITW to ensure the project meets its targets and will support the development of a database of ITW’s contacts.
Main Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for approaching new companies in order to establish relationships and opportunities for young people.
- Manage a portfolio of corporates, SMEs and other employers, and plan their engagement with ITW as supporters in an appropriate way.
- Initiate contact with potential partners through face-to-face meetings, telephone calls, events and written communications.
- Outreach to CSR departments of local companies to provide support to ITW.
- To be responsible for developing each employer relationship to ensure long term partnerships.
- To work alongside the programme manager to devise promotional material to be used across a range of platforms.
- To provide bespoke support to employers and mentors targeted at removing barriers to employment for young people.
- To hold individual and small group sessions on a variety of employability and personal development subjects.
- To liaise with a range of businesses and partner organisations to coordinate work placements for young people.
- To work in partnership with a range of organisations to recruit and signpost mentors to the ITWemployer mentor programme.
- To work closely with young people’s placement providers to measure progress and identify areas for development through site visits and regular communication with placement providers.
- To attend meetings with other partners and service providers.
- Occasional attendance at events held by InSpire or partner organisations.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
- To collate and maintain up to date attendance records for all aspects of the mentor and work placement programme.
- To supervise and maintain up to date personal development and action plans for all young people involved in the programme, using agreed systems as directed by the PM.
- To provide reports on the projects progress against key milestones as requested by the PM.
Personal Development and Training:
- To attend regular supervision and appraisal sessions.
- To undertake training and development opportunities as agreed with the line manager.
Other Duties:
- To be responsible for effective implementation of InSpire’s Child Protection and Equal Opportunities Policies, supporting the execution of best practice through all aspects of delivery.
- To provide written and verbal reports to the ProgrammeManager as requested.
- To ensure compliance with InSpire’s other policies.
- To undertake any other reasonable duties as appropriate to the post.
- To undertake any task that may be requested from time to time by the Young People’s Programme Manager, Director or board of trustees, as may be consistent with the nature and scope of this post.
Person Specification:
Essential / Desirable / EvidenceQualifications / Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area
GCSE A-C grade in English, or equivalent / Degree level educationin a relevant subject area
First Aid training
Child Protection and Safeguarding Training / Application form
Experience / Minimum 2 years full time(or equivalent) experience of working with organisations in an employability context
Significant experience of promoting and maintaining productive relationships with a variety of individuals and organisations
Experience of encouraging employers to engage in a project
Experience of working with employers around work experience, mentoring, apprenticeships, education or training
Experience of coordinating projects and prioritising workloads
Experience of developmental work within the charity sector and/or young people
Working in partnership with other agencies across the voluntary and statutory sector
Monitoring and evaluation / Supporting volunteers and staff / Application form and interview
Skills / Excellent ability to prepare reports and presentations, to wide audiences
Excellent ability to motivate,inspire and positively influence others to get involved
