Indiana State Chapter Meeting April 9, 2016

Mark brought the Meeting to order at 1:00pm. The Sgt at Arms, Danny Price secured the room. The Pledge of Allegiance and Riders Response were recited. Lee Berry said a prayer of thanks, safety and guidance.

Roll Call: 2016 officers present were, Mark Gosney, Charlie Whelchel, Dina Long, Kimy Dietz, Lee Berry, Linda Cook, Danny Price, Bruce Shephard.

Sign in: of the Chapters- 35 present.

Guests: Terry Smith, Assistant Judge Advocate, Department Officer.

Sergeant at Arms: Danny Price - Please shut off phones or pay a fine if it rings. Remember to salute the flag if you leave the room and salute it as you re-enter the room.

A reminder to follow proper protocol during the meeting to speak or make a motion. Stand, state your name, chapter number and sponsoring post name. Speak Slowly and Clearly.

Minutes: TJ Small, 409, made a motion to waive reading and accept as written, seconded by George Wilson, 495, passed by vote.

Treasury Report: Totals and overview of details read by Dina Long, with a detailed written copy available for review. A motion to accept the written copy was made by George Wilson, seconded by Doug White, passed by vote.

Membership: 2016 year ends on the Close of Books Day, June 5. The 2017 membership cards will be printed from the list of members in each chapter on that day. Please mail your information to Dina by Mid May.

Chaplain: Lee Berry asked that we all bow and give a moment of silence for the riders who have passed since last meeting. Debra Yearwood, 331; Sharon Yowell, 82; Michael Cazee, 2.

Run Coordinator: Bruce Shepherd - KSU 11:45 on June 5 at 492 West Lafayette Post to continue to the Indiana Veteran's Home for the Close of Books. Northern Indiana Coordinator, Mike Gunder. Needing a volunteer for the Southern part. Contact Bruce of you would like to help.

There will be a parade on August 28 in Cincinnati for the Legacy Ride.

Parry Schlimmer from Boonville will coordinate the Flag lines over the bridges South of Indy the day the Legacy Ride goes through.

Communications: Linda Cook - Please only send one Chapter Data form per Chapter. Please share the State Newsletter with your membership! If you have a deceased member, please let the state officers know so they may visit at the funeral home.

IVH Committee: We are in need of a new representative for the meetings and to report back at our meetings.

Indiana State Rally: Bob Schnell says we have three applications for the 2017 Rally. The location will be announced at the State Rally 2016.

The 2016 Rally hosted by Brownsburg 331 pre-registration will be $30.00 per person, $35.00 at the gate. T-shirts will be $10.00. Being a sponsor will get your name on the back of the shirt. The profits from the event will go to Operation Comfort Warrior and the Hyperbaric Chamber Therapy to help our veteran's who suffer from PTSD.

ROY Award: Will be announced at the July Convention.

George Wilson made a motion to give Linda Cook, the communications officer $600.00 a quarter to use on the expenses of that office, with receipts showing those expenses, seconded by TJ Small, passed by vote.

Charter Presented to Chapter 510, The Historic Fort Benjamin Harrison Post.

Mark- Please clean up your act at your post! The Riders chapter is sponsored by the Post, they can disband the chapter and seize the money held by the chapter. Remove offensive patches! Encourage the ALR Chapter members to also attend their Legion, SAL or Auxiliary meetings and be active.

July Convention will be Nominations for the 2017 ALR State Officers. Please nominate a qualified person for each office.

To receive donations for a non Legion Charity, the paperwork such as 501-C3 and mission statements to the State Executive Board by the July Convention.

A motion to adjourn the meeting by TJ, seconded by Scott Rolands, 182, passed by vote.
