Pay Grade: Pay Grade Admin 3 Salary Range: $54,351 - $67,938

Position Summary:

Responsible for the overall operation of the Galveston ISD Educational Foundation whose mission is to promote quality education by establishing, supporting and enhancing programs not otherwise funded by the Galveston Independent School District.

Position Requirements

Education/Certification:

Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, communication or appropriate field.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Comprehensive fundraising experience in a management position. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software.

Experience:

Energetic executive with a proven record of successful marketing, communications, grant writing and general fundraising for non-profit organizations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate all meetings and functions of the Foundation for the Board of Directors

2. Assist the Board of Directors in the development of a master plan and monitor the progress of both short and long-term goals

3. Direct the development program to cultivate, motivate and solicit individual, foundation and corporate donors which include the development and maintenance of a computerized system of donor information

4. Maintain current knowledge of developments and practices in fundraising, planned giving and tax laws related to charitable giving (to include annual giving, annuities, trusts, wills and bequests, corporate giving, estate planning, scholarships, foundation and governmental grants, memorials and tributes)

5. Plan, direct and supervise the preparation and production of all publications and development and maintenance of all mailing lists and audiovisual productions of the Foundation

6. Provide advice, counsel and general departmental support to all volunteer organizations and committees regarding communications, operations and development

7. Serve as the official representative and spokesperson for the Foundation

8. Plan and execute all activities related to special events

9. Maintain membership and represent the Foundation in appropriate professional groups and special programs

10. Provide community awareness programs through presentation to clubs and organizations, publications and special programs

11. Plans, directs and supervises implementations of the Foundation’s internal and external public relations programs

12. Responsible for development of effective media relations and works closely with the GISD Communications Officer to direct a comprehensive media/communications plan

13. Recommend and institute programs and projects on pre-determined timetables

14. Serves as the administrative liaison between the Foundation and Galveston Independent School District

15. Investigate and determine the adaptability of successful fundraising programs of other voluntary non-profit organizations

16. Assist in preparing the annual budget

17. Coordinate Foundation affairs with existing school/community partnership programs

18. Coordinate Foundation applications from private sector resource grants

19. Manage all monetary donations with accurate records in the QuickBooks accounting database

20. Work with accountant each year to complete audit and tax forms

21. Handle all investments required as dictated by the investment committee of the board

22. Administer all accounting procedures within the foundation

23. Supervise, direct and/or perform routine details necessary to the operation of the Foundation

24. Performs all clerical details associated with the operation of the Foundation
