1. Does the truck have an information plate attached to it?
2. Is it legible and waterproof?
3. Does it show the name and address of the manufacturer?
4. Does it describe the type of pallet truck?
5. Does it give the serial number?
6. Is the year of manufacture stated?
7. Is the unladen mass of the truck given (including the forks and any other attachment?
8. Is the maximum safe load that the truck can carry clearly stated on it?

1. When the tiller is released, does it gently return to the upper position (this should be automatic)?
2. When the lowering control is released, does the load stop lowering?
3. Is there a protective bar around the outside of the grip and the controls to protect the operator’s hands?
