Ali Bin Abi Talib (radi allahu anhu)

The Fourth Caliph of Islam: A brother to the Prophet

Introduction:

Assalaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakhatahu, Ya Muslims may Allah (The Bestower of Mercy) have mercy upon you, ameen. Alhamdulillah, we praise, glorify, and magnify Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) for his mercy upon mankind. I testify that there is no true god who deserves to worship except Allah alone, without partners, and I testify the Muhammad ibn Abdullah is the slave and final Messenger of Allah. I send the salaat and salaams upon the Messenger of Allah (salla allahu alaihi was salaam), his family, and the companions.

Today, we shall review with you the historic accounts of the fourth caliph of Islam. He is known to us as Ali bin Abi Talib (radi allahu anha). He was the first young (boy) to accept the call of Islam, he is the cousin of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (salla allahu alaihi was salaam), and he was the husband of Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) the Prophet’s daughter.

Ali (radi allahu anha) from a young boy lived in the house of the Prophet (salla allahu alaihi wa salaam) and he was so close to the Prophet (salla allahu alaihi wa salaam) that the Prophet (salla allahu alaihi wa salaam) said him, “Don’t you like to be to me like Harun was to Musa (alaihi wa salaam), however there will be no prophet after me.”

May Allah make you of those whom he increases in knowledge, who benefits from what they have learned, and of those who act upon righteousness, ameen
