How do I sign-up for anaudition?
Justaddyournametothelistyourbanddirectorhas(orwillhave),andyouwillbeassignedanauditiontime.
HowlongdoeseachauditionlastandwhenwillIknowmyauditiontime?
Eachauditionissixminuteslong.Wewillassignyourauditiontimeandletyourbanddirectorknowwhat yourtimeslotis.Ifyouhaveaconflictandneedtoaskforaspecifictime,pleaseletusknow.
WhatwillIplay?
1)Themusicaletudesforyourinstrument(requiredonlyfora“Honors”audition).
2)PartoftheILMEAscalesheet(thejudgewillchoosewhichscalesyouplay).
3)SightReading.
Themusiclookshard,shouldIreallyaudition?
Yes! You have an option: if you would like the opportunity to audition into the “Honors” Wind Ensemble class,youMUSTperformtheFULLaudition,whichincludesthepreparedetudes.However,ifyouarenervous about playing the music, or just want to be in band, you will only need to prepare the simplified scale sheet andthesightreadingportions.*
*Ifyouareplanningtocompletethefullaudition,andyouarehavingtroubleplayingthismusic,don’tworry. It’smostlydesignedforhighschoolstudentswithalittlemoreexperiencethanyouhave.Doyourbest,but don’t worry if you can’t get it all right now. With practice in high school you will eventually be able to play moremusiclikethis.

WewillposttheresultsontheLincoln-WayEast Musicwebsiteapproximately2weeksafter all of the auditions are completed.(

Whenyousigninattheauditionwewillaskyouwhichafter-schoolgroupsyouareinterested injoining.Youwillsimplymarkyourpreferenceontheinformationsheet.
