OLD BUSINESS:
CHALLENGE CUP MONIES: Yarmouth IC proposed to host an all video Judges School in July. Challenge Cup monies can help subsidize Judges Schools. Detailed proposal forthcoming. Judges schools are changing. Reinstatement of Collegiate Institute may be proposed at Governing Council to again allow judging, coaching, competing, all at the same time. Even now, for Tech school, if you pass the test, you can immediately go to work.
NEW BUSINESS:
- THE 2013 NEICC COMPETITION BID: Proposed for 11/2 and/or 11/3/13. Requires: 6-10 hrs confirmed ice, Chief Referee/Accountant, tentative budget, mandatory 6.0 events No-Test through Senior, mandatory IJS Juvenile through Senior, optional IJS Pre-Juvenile. Optional events: Dance, Moves, Artistic, Compulsory.
Pilgrim FSC hosted last year's competition and is the only bidder in for this year's event. Pilgrim noted the competition has potential to grow larger. They are proposing date of 11/9/13, though this is close to start of Easterns, and procuring officials may be an issue. However, it was noted that scheduling anycompetition is difficult due to so many Basic Skills competitions. Several new NEICC Competition models were discussed including merging and collaborating Open Competitions with NEICC, updating the 2001 version of the competitions manual, and offering jackets or trophies for the most points per club with skaters who medal. Pilgrim APPROVED seek a sanction for the 2013 NEICC Competition.
