Development Programme for First Line Managers
FE Sussex (the consortium of Sussex and Surrey colleges) has been awarded a tender by the Education and Training Foundation (The ETF) for the development of a training programme for first line managers in the post-16 sector.
The intention of the ETF is the training programme will be used widely across all providers in the post-16 sector. Content will be broad enough to be adapted by trainers to take account of local organisational needs and situations.
The purpose of this paper is to request your assistance in recording your thoughts about the potential titles of the 12 modules which will initially comprise the programme. The opportunity to expand the number and titles of modules will be examined later on in the research period.
The format of the training programme has been partially set by the ETF and comprises
We are currently involved in second stage research regarding the title and content of the modules which will comprise the training programme. As the above diagram shows, the modules are grouped into two priorities.
Timescale of research period
We are conducting research between 8th August and 9th September 2016.

The results of initial research together with information provided by the EFT show the likely titles of the six priority modules are (in no particular order)

During the initial research conducted by FE Sussex, investigation into the demand for the second six priority modules resulted in the following choice of potential titles:

Second stage research into the suitability and demand for the training modules
