Summary

The new Analytical Charts component available inpetroWEB’s NAVIGATOR and GATEWAY applications is designed to help users analyze and develop actionable insight into their grid data. These charts are immediately available from any DataGrid Plus and are designed for what-if analysis to discover insights intothe data. The Charts, DataGrid Plus and Map work together helping isolate data points which are outliers and subject to further investigation. Selections and filters on one chart are presented simultaneously on all other charts.

Charting helps answer real oil and gas business questions such as:

Where is most of the production or water coming from?

Where should I focus my engineering time to have the largest impact?

What are the key variables influencing productivity in this group of fields?

This document outlines the new features offered by each analytical chart: 80/20 chart, Scatter chart, Dashboard.

Features

GENERAL –As DevKit elements, the new Analytical Charts offer the same featuresets available to all DevKit implementations.

Embedding –Analytical Charts can be embedded as part of a DevKit composite that is launched as an extension. As part of this “dashboard” display, the charts integrate well with the other existing DevKit components within the dashboard. They are driven by a common data source.

Synchronized data selections - Data selections from one DevKit component are reflected by all the other components within the dashboard.

RIBBON VIEW– A new ribbon view replaces the legacy toolbar and offers more features and a consistent UI across all DevKit elements.

CONFIGURATION – All Analytical Charts have a Configurationribbon group in the Ribbon View. The group offers a set of tools specific to each chart. These configuration tools manipulate how the data is plotted on the chart.

80/20 Chart Configuration Ribbon Group

• X drop down – This drop down consists of string properties within the given data set/data source. The data will be grouped based on these values and used in the chart for the x axis.
• Y drop down –This drop down consists of numeric properties within the given data set/data source. These values are then added to the previous point’s value and plotted on the chart. NOTE: The values shown in the tool tip are the actual item values NOT the summed values plotted on the chart.

• Color By drop down – This drop down consists of string properties to create groups that are assigned colors based on a color ramp. Each point is then colored based on the group it falls into.
• Color –This drop down consists of sets of color palettes used to color the different groups. If there are more groups than the color palette offers then the colors will be reused.

Scatter Chart Configuration Ribbon Group

• X drop down –Consists of a list of all numeric properties within a given data set/data source. The X axis point values will be plotted against these property values.
• Y drop down –Consists of a list of all numeric properties within a given data set/data source except the one selected in the X drop down. The Y axis point values will be plotted against these property values.
• Color By drop down –This drop down consists of string properties to create groups that are assigned colors based on a color ramp. Each point is then colored based on the group it falls into.
• Color Ramp drop down –This drop down consists of sets of color palettes used to color groups. If there are more groups than the color palette offers then the colors will be reused.
• Size By drop down –Consists of a list of numeric properties within the given data set/data source. The selected property will determine the size of the point plotted based on the largest property value in the data set/data source.

CHART TOOLS– All Analytical charts have a Chart Tools ribbon group which is consistent across all charts. This group of tools will deal with general chart operations: Show/Hide Legend, Show/Hide X Axis Labels, Show/Hide Crosshairs, Rectangle/Single Selection type, and Toggle on or off Selection.

Show/Hide Legend –Toggle button that shows or hides the chart color legend. Default is off.

Show/Hide X Axis Labels – Toggle button that shows or hides the labels for the x axis. Default is off.

Show/Hide Crosshairs –Toggle button that shows or hides the crosshairs on the chart. Default is off.

Rectangle/Single Point Selection –A drop down that allows selection of multiple points through a rectangle selection or a single point selection.

DASHBOARD –The Dashboard is a composite extension consisting of TreeMap, DataGrid Plus, 80/20 Chart, and Scatter Chart. It uses the same data for all charts in this tile view and synchronizes the selections. It is a great way to get an overview of the data and then drill into it by expanding each chart to full screen.
