The meeting was called to order.

  1. HEalth Care Items: Lisa Murphy/ mary van skiver
  • Health Care Reform: top 10 things to know explanation of Timing of 2014 renewal information

An explanation of APC coverage was provided: because it provides affordable care and minimum value to APC employees, coverage in the Marketplace/Exchange does notapply.

Employers do not have to offer benefits to employees; however APC currently plans todo so.

Multiple taxes for employers are required as a result of Reform; one of them is

$63 per person covered, which includes employees and dependents.

A general explanation of the renewal timing and process was provided.

A discussion of Health Savings Accounts and CRNA/AA group occurred; this is a coverage option that is considered each year and will continue to be reviewed.

Handouts were available and are posted on InfinityHR and the APC website.

  • Dental and Vision reminder – Delta Dental and VSP in 2013

No member cardsare issued from either carrier.

Providers will find member information on-line for billing purposes.

  1. Staffing: 2014 hires:dr. van dam

APC will continue to look at staffing throughout the year.

  1. scheduling: Dr. van dam/Al Valk
  • Floating holidays, weekend and holiday scheduling
  • This occurs before vacation scheduling begins
  • General Staffing discussions:
  • Verdier Eye Center
  • A request for additional individuals to credential at Verdier Eye Center with the increase in volume and number of days
  • MidTowne, other locations
  • Metro east
  • The question is whether the new sites will be new work or will re-distribute current cases.
  • QGenda scheduling application:
  • In development; this application will provide daily schedules to be pushed to smart phones.
  • Reminders:
  • Early Out : Sign out when you leave facility;
  • Complete work time at a different campus (split out on time entry), PTO or Unpaid time
  • Complete time sheet; daily and end of week
  • Timing of requests: within three weeks or beyond three weeks
  • Lynde schedules weekend coverage; call her with preferences. Intent is to staff first with individuals who desire to work the weekends.
  • For requests beyond three weeks, contact Tara Tiesma; for requests within three weeks, contact Lynde.
  1. State of reimbursements to physicians due to reform: Dr.Larson

There is little to say; much is unknown other than reimbursements are decreasing and a lot more will be clear in the next six to twelve months.

  1. Miscellaneous

There was a discussion of long physician breaks and lunches. A communication will be sent as a reminder to physicians that expected morning and afternoon breaks are 15 minutes and lunch breaks are 30 minutes. Longer breaks take time from other physician’s breaks.
