GRREC Special Education Division is pleased to present Conceptual Building Blocks, a 6-day training for K-5 teachers of mathematics. Through modeling, rich discussion, and hands-on activities, participants will develop a deep conceptual understanding of mathematical concepts in number, operations, and fractions. There are three modules: addition/subtraction (2 days), multiplication/division (2 days), and fractions (2 days). In addition to the 6 sessions, participants will receive one-on-one follow-up support through coaching visits at their school sites.

To support learning, participants will receive 3 books (listed in Materials section) along with electronic copies of all centers, learning tasks, and other activities for use with their students. These sessions are intended to strengthen core mathematics instruction as well as to offer strategies that address the needs of students in intervention or students with disabilities.

Presenters will be GRREC’s Special Education Mathematics Consultants: Jennifer Clemmons, Rebecca Gaddie and Randi Womack.

For: K-5 General Education Teachers, Special Education Teachers, and Interventionists

Registration for two individuals who work as a co-teaching team is highly recommended
