· Student Congress- Homecoming 2013

o HOMECOMING TICKETS ARE ON SALE IN THE CAFETERIA! HOMECOMING TICKETS ARE $20 APIECE. IF YOU ARE BRINGING A GUEST, THE TICKET SELLERS IN THE CAFETERIA HAVE GUEST FORMS WHICH NEED TO BE COMPLETELY FILLED OUT AND SIGNED BY THE PRINCIPAL BEFORE YOU MAY PURCHASE A TICKET FOR A NON BRUSH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT. PLEASE PUURCHASE YOUR TICKETS EARLY AND AVOID THE RUSH AT THE END. TICKETS WILL BE SOLD UNTIL OCTOBER 17, 2013.

§ If you have purchased, or plan on purchasing, a guest ticket you must submit the completed responsibility statement or guest will not be admitted into the dance. Forms are available during you lunch period. (10/17)

o ALL TOP 25 MEMBERS MUST REPORT TO A 6 AM MEETING IN WELSER GYM THIS THURSDAY, OCTOBER 17, THE HOMECOMING ASSEMBLY DATE. PLEASE BE PROMPT. WHOEVER MISSES THIS WALK THROUGH PERFORMANCE WILL NOT BE IN THE ASSEMBLY. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR BEING THERE ON TIME!(10/17)

· Attention Book Clubbers! Our next book, 'The Book Thief,' will be available to be picked up after school today in the library. See Mrs. Charnock for your copy.(10/16)

· The Christian Fellowship Club will meet today, Wednesday, October 16th in room D211.(10/16)

· CARE Due to Homecoming festivities, this week's CARE meeting has been rescheduled. Our next meeting is October 24th at 3 PM in B105.(10/17)

· Attention all Drama Club members: There will be a short but very important drama club meeting this Thursday, Oct 17 at 3:15 in RM C115. Hope to see all there!(10/17)

· MAC Diamonds ALSO-Is there anybody, and we mean anybody, who can sing or dance and has a positive message to inspire your peers? Whether it's poetry, music or movements the MAC program wants you to audition to help us kickoff the school year and strive and promote academic achievement. Or theme this year is "turn-up" which simply implies "Taking Unlimited Responsibility Now for Unlimited Possibilities." Auditions will be held next week on Thursday, October 17 after school in Room A105; however you must sign up in Room A105!!! Be heard by others! Bring your best inspirational material and we'll see you Thursday, October 17.--don't forget to sign up!!!(10/17)

· Key Clubbers, dues were due last week, but we are still accepting the 15 dollars, so bring it to our meeting today, Wednesday, October 16th! We also have lots of events to sign up for! See you there. (10/16)

· Attention NHS Students! If you wish to buy an NHS t-shirt, please take eight dollars to Ms. Fine by October 22nd which is also the date of our next meeting.(10/22)

· GSA - The Gay Straight Alliance will meet Tuesday, 10/15 in room A206 after school. Please join us if you did not come last week. See Ms. Spielman in A206 if you have any questions(10/15)

· This is a reminder to Ms. Fine's 9th grade classes; you need your textbook and your notebook today. Make sure you have your book!(10/15)

· Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors Jostens will be here to take Class Ring on Thursday, October 17th during lunch in the cafeteria. Don’t forget your $50.00 deposit. If you do not have a Ring Packet, you can pick one up in the Principals office, the main office or go to Jostens.com and see all of your options online. If you are not ready to order your Ring but are still interested in purchasing one please see the Jostens Representative for other order days. (10/17)

· Attention, all Environmental Club members! There will be an important meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 3:00 in A201. WE will be discussing the movie, Trashed, and upgrading our recycling program. If you can't make the meeting, please see Ms. Falkenberg.(10/15)

· Attention Senior Class: We will be extending the senior class apparel deadline to Friday, November 1st. Please make sure order forms and all monies are turned in by this date. If you need an order form, please stop by the General Office.(11/1)

SPORTS

· Cross Country Congratulations to the Boys & Girls Cross-Country Teams for their 3rd place finishes in the NOC Lake division Championship on Saturday. The Boys were led by sophomore Mike Baio who finished 4th with a time of 18:16 and Senior Blake Dixon who finished fourth with a time of 18:54. The girls were led by junior Lauren McDermott who finished 9th with a time of 22:15. All three runners earned all-conference honors. Wish both teams good luck as they prepare for the District Championship. (10/16)

· Brush Boys Soccer Congratulations to the Boys Soccer team as they won the Conference Championship for the first time since 2004. The Boys Soccer Players are Seniors: Parbat Adhikari, Austin Brizee, Brendan Burkholder, Tyler Davis, Sam Eisler, Connor Frydl, Tyka Pyakurel, Gustaf Tapper; Juniors: Amani Barrett, Brian Bolinger, Matt Ely, Colin Fry, Piotr Gorski, Conor Heisler, Phil Heston, Matt McLoughlin, David Miller, A.J. Nemeth, Michael Rohwer, Nick Rossi; Sophomores: Marcellus Byrd, Matt Kornet; and Freshmen: Ben Bolinger, Ganga Chhetri, Brett Gordon, Bradley Heiss, Robert Hoppel, Nolan Washington. Come cheer the Boys Team tonight as they play Willoughby South at Korb Field at 7:00 PM in a state playoff game.(10/16)

· Swim Team Anyone interested in joining the swim team; please come to our informational meeting tonight, Tuesday, October 15thnight in the Brush library from 6-7pm. Parents are encouraged to attend in order to get all necessary information and forms. Swimmers, see you tonight.(10/15)

· Basketball Attention all boys interested in playing varsity, JV, or freshmen level basketball this year. There will be a mandatory meeting for all prospective players on Wednesday, October 16 after school in Welser Gymnasium until 3:30pm. Important information will be given out at this meeting that must be followed in order for you to participate this year. If you want to try out, you must make arrangements to attend.(10/16)

· PTSA Concessions Volunteer Hours opportunity!

Brush PTSA needs volunteers for the concession stand during varsity soccer and football games.

This week games are Monday 10/14, Wednesday 10/16 and Friday 10/18.
