2016 NN2 Conference Theme
Collective Impact:Making Connections through Communities of Practice
September 28-30, 2016 in Grand Rapids, Michigan
The conference will feature both presentations by invitation and proposal submission. Presenters will provide dynamic and provocative learning opportunities for attendees with sessions that are interactive and engage participants.
Abstracts for 45 minuteconference sessions are sought on topics and initiatives affecting healthcare education in two-year colleges, as identified below. The 45 minute session should be a 25 minute presentation with 20 minutes of guided questions. Each submission will be peer reviewed by the Conference Committee members, who will select presentations judged to best fit with the conference theme and needs of attendees. Prospective presenters may submit proposals for more than one subject area; however, a separate proposal must be submitted for each area of interest.
- Student Success:Proposals may include strategies used to maximize admission, retention, and success utilizing college-wide departments, i.e. student advising and financial aid. Best practices should be discussed as well in retention, student support system, etc.
- Curriculum Pathways:Curriculum Pathways have been demonstrated as effective ways to develop knowledge, skills and abilities for students to become most effective practitioners. These pathways integrate the best education theory, employer needs and expectations as well as state of the art technology and practice in a way that provides maximum opportunity for diversity and collaboration. This holistic way of integrating the learner, employer and educator into the process is promising to be the most effective way to meet the healthcare employment needs of our future workforce. The 2016 Grand Rapids NN2 Meeting Planning Committee is soliciting proposals from membership that address ways curriculum pathways are enhancing health care education and delivery.
- Leadership:Leadership and leadership development are important topics for all NN2 members as we develop our future healthcare workforce. The 2016 Grand Rapids NN2 Meeting Planning Committee is soliciting proposals from membership that address topics demonstrating successful projects and strategies that have resulted in the development and or enhancement of successful student, faculty or administrative leaders in healthcare. Examples of topics would be faculty development, leadership training, developing sustainability plans, dealing with budget issues, collaboration with health care employers, etc.
- Data Driven Decision-making: Proposals may include data-driven decision-making strategies being utilized to make organizational and/or program decisions
