Purpose of the Job
To improve outcomes for children and young people:
· To work closely with the Children and Young People's Outcomes Board and Children & Young People’s Services to deliver Bristol's plans for children and young people to achieve key priorities;
· To oversee key aspects of the commissioning and performance management of internal and external services for vulnerable children and young people;
· To investigate and recommend ways of developing service users / children, young people and families participation in influencing the strategic planning and commissioning process;
· To work with providers to monitor and enhance services to deliver effective impact on outcomes;
· To lead on designated projects.
Key Job Outcomes
1. To contribute to the delivery of the Children and Young People’s Plan in relation to prevention and early intervention outcomes.
2. To establish Service level agreements, monitor and evaluate service provider performance, collate management information and report to the relevant lead commissioner on progress of services, particularly in relation to vulnerable groups.
3. To prepare and present reports for appropriate Boards and other groups outlining options, management information etc which will inform the decision making process.
4. To be the main point of contact between the Strategic Commissioning and Planning team and providers to provide advice, guidance and support in the development of services.
5. To keep updated on new developments and best practice in the field preventative and early intervention services for children and young people.
6. Develop structures for training and workforce development

General Accountabilities
