Key purpose(s) of this job:
Consistently and accurately maintain a public facing information system – ie.the FYI Datastore and Website.
Provide general admin support to the Early Years team.
Main Responsibilities and Key Performance Indicators
Accurately input new services, activities and organisations into the FYI Datastore.
Ensure all information given promotes equality of opportunity, celebrates diversity and challenges stereotypes
Ensure the service maintains the confidentiality of service users and childcare providers and complies with the Data Protection Act.
Support the FIS Officer with all aspects of marketing and E-marketing.
Respond to Family Information Service enquiries from the general public giving advice and guidance via the phone or email.
Maintain accurate records.
Provide a high standard of information for distribution internally and externally.
Provide general admin support to the team.
Job Activities
- Provide clients with information on registered and non-registered childcare
- Provide clients with a wide range of accessible information that may help them support their child/ren through to their twentieth birthday, including positive activities, support services, leisure etc.
- Update the FYI datastore website.
- Use a range of IT applications to meet the needs of the service.
- Assist with the marketing and promotion of the service.
- Work co-operatively with the Early Years team providing admin support as required.

Special Requirements & Working Conditions
-There may be a need occasionally to be flexible with working patterns
-The Council operates a no-smoking policy
-The Authority is obliged, under arrangements introduced for the protection of children, to check with the criminal Records Bureau (CRB) for the existence and content of any criminal record prior to your appointment.
-You are therefore, required to apply for a Disclosure from the CRB (guidance on this will be issued if you are short listed). Failure to do this could prevent your application being considered further.

-Demonstrate a flexible approach in the delivery of work within the office. On occasion it may be necessary to undertake some weekend or evening work (notice will be given).
-The postholder may be required to work in any one of the Council’s sites.
-Willingness to undertake any further ICT training and qualifications as required.
