Special warning

  • To activate, press the button above the crown for about 5 seconds until the hands start spinning. If the watch is an hour slow or fast, this is because of when the watch was manufactured, in regard to British Summer Time. If the watch is out, follow the “Setting the time” section to set.
  • Never use the crown at 3 o’clock to set the time! The watch will require a reset if the crown is pulled out and the hands are moved.
  • This watch is not waterproof.

General description

These talking watches announce the time and date at the touch of a button and are finished with a silver coloured case and leather strap and stainless steel, expanding bracelet options. Your timepiece is a voice and hand-synchronising analogue talking watch with an English male voice and has an optional alarm facility. The hands of the watch are always in synch to the spoken time announcement. This watch also has a full voice guidance setup, making it easier for a visually impaired person to set. One press of the 2 o’clock button will tell you the time, a second press of the button will tell you the date.

Orientation

Position the watch in front of you and you will notice the following:

A protruding button at the 2 o'clock position, called S1 - this is the Talk button.

The watch face winder is at the 3 o'clock position - this is used to manually set the hands when re-synchronising them after a new battery is inserted.

A recessed button at the 4 o'clock position, called S2 - this is the Mode button used to enter the mode settings. A pen tip or paper clip will need to be used to press this button. It is recessed to prevent accidental resetting.

Using the product

Time and date announcement

Press S1 button (2 o’clock) to announce the time. The watch will announce, “The time is 10.15am’’, for example.

Press S1 button (2 o’clock) againafter the time announcement to hear the date, ‘‘Today is Monday, May 14, year 2016’’, for example.

To just hear the date, press the S1 buttons twice in quick succession.

Alarm announcement

Push S2 button (4 o’clock) once to hear the current alarm time setting. The watch will say, ‘‘The alarm time is 7.30am, alarm is off’’. If the alarm is on the watch will say, “The alarm time is 7.30am, alarm is on’’, for example.

Mode functions

Press the recessed Mode (4 o'clock) button with a pen tip or paper clip to enter the mode settings.

Set time

Press and hold S2 button (4 o’clock) while the watch is in normal time keeping mode for 5 seconds or so until the watch says, “Set Alarm, Press 2 o’clock button to set”.

Push S2, twice more, until the watch says “Set Time, Press 2 o’clock button to set”. Press 2 o’clock button (S1) to begin time setting.

The watch will say, “Press 2 o’clock button to set Hour, 4 o’clock button to confirm”. Press S1 (2 o’clock button) to set the hour. Keep pressing S1 until the correct hour is reached. Listen carefully to the watch to make sure the right AM or PM has been set. To confirm, press S2 (4 o’clock button).

The watch will now say, “Press 2 o’clock button to set Minute, 4 o’clock button to confirm”. Press S1 (2 o’clock button) to set Minute; continue pressing S1 until the correct minute is heard. Press S2 (4 o’clock button) to confirm.

After confirmation, the watch hands will automatically spin around fast to match the voice time announcement.Wait until the watch resumes normal running before continuing use.

Please note: You must press S2 to confirm after hour and minute, even if you aren’t setting the hour or minute. Otherwise it will stay in “setting time” mode.

Set date

Hold S1 (2 o’clock button) while the watch is in the normal time keeping mode for more than 5 seconds, until the watch says “Press 2 o’clock button to set, 4 o’clock button to confirm” followed by the current year setting number e.g. ‘’2015’’. You can set the year from 2000 to 2099.Press S1 (2 o’clock button) to set the Year followed by pressing S2 (4 o’clock button) to confirm once the Year is selected.

The watch will now say “Press 2 o’clock button to set, 4 o’clock button to confirm” and then announces the current Month setting e.g. “January’’.Press S1 (2 o’clock button) to set Month and then press S2 (4 o’clock button) to confirm once the Month is selected.

The watch now says “Press 2 o’clock button to set, 4 o’clock to confirm” and then announces the current date setting e.g. 18.Press S1 (2 o’clock button) to set Date and then press S2 (4 o’clock button) to confirm once the date is selected.

Lastly, the watch says “Press 2 o’clock button to set, 4 o’clock button to confirm” and then announces the date just set e.g. “Monday, January 18 2016’’.

Set alarm

Hold S2 (4 o’clock button) while the watch is in normal time keeping mode for 5 or so seconds until the watch says, “Set Alarm, Press 2 o’clock button to set”. Press S1 (2 o’clock button). The watch then says “Press 2 o’clock button to set Hour, 4 o’clock button to confirm.”

Press S1 (2 o’clock button) to set Hour and then press S2 (4 o’clock button) to confirm after you have set the alarm hour.After confirmation, the watch will speak, “Set Alarm Minute, Press 2 o’clock button to set.” Press S1 (2 o’clock button) to set Minute and then press S2 (4 o’clock button) to confirm once the minute has been selected.

After confirmation, the watch will say the alarm time that you have just set.

You can also check your Alarm time with a push of the S2 (4 o’clock button) at any time you want.

When the alarm goes off, the Alarm will beep for 30 seconds.You can turn it off with a push of any button.

The Alarm is a daily alarm, so if you turn the beeping sound off, the alarm will beep again the next day. If you want to turn off the daily alarm, you can follow the Alarm Off setting as below.

Every time the alarm beep is turned off, it will say the alarm time.

Turn on/off the alarm

Hold S2 (4 o’clock button) while the watch is in normal time keepingmode for more than 5 seconds until the watch says, “Set Alarm, Press 2 o’clock button to set.”Press S2 (4 o’clock button) once again and the watch says “Alarm ON/OFF, press 2 o’clock button to set.”Press the S1 (2 o’clock button) and the watch will say, “Press 2 o’clock button to ON/OFF, 4 o’clock button to confirm.”

Press S1 (2 o’clock button) to switch the alarm from ON to OFF or OFF to ON and then press S2 (4 o’clock button) to confirm.

After a daily alarm is confirmed to be OFF, the watch says “Alarm is OFF” when S2 (4 o’clock button) is pushed it will announce the alarm time and if it is set to on or off.

Synchronising the hands

Pull out the crown of the watch when the second hand is at 12 o’clock - the second hand must be at 12 o’clock. If you miss 12 o’clock, you will need to wait for the hand to come round again. Have a practice stopping the hand at 3 or 6 first.

Turn the crown of the watch to set hour and minute hands pointing at 12 o’clock as well. Now Hour, Minute and Second hands are all pointing at 12 o’clock with the crown pulled out.

Press and hold S1 (2 o’clock button) for more than 5 seconds with the crown pulled out.After five seconds, simultaneously push in the crown and let go of the S1 button.

The watch hands will begin to spin quickly, when they match the previously set, internal time they will resume running normally.

After the watch resumes running, check to see if the time announcement and watch hands are synchronised by pressing the S1 button once. If they are synchronised, you have successfully reset the watch.

Battery replacement

There are no user serviceable parts in this product. A jeweller or watch repairer should carry out any battery or strap replacement. It is better to have the strap adjusted or replaced at a jeweller's where they can properly measure your wrist.

Important note for jeweller: Ensure that the seal washer underneath the battery cover is not damaged or lost during a battery change.

This watch is fitted with a lithium battery type CR2025, (product code, BAT04).

If the sound becomes quiet or distorted or the hands fail to move properly, please replace the battery.

Please note: Once the battery has been replaced the time needs to be set, and then the hands should be synchronised to match the talking time.

Set the Time and Date according to the “Set Time” and “Set Date” sections in this instruction manual.
