Connecting Genetic Processes to Technology, Society & the Environment

The fields of genetics and genomics are growing as new technologies and contributions are being made in various areas such as medicine, agriculture, criminal justice, etc.

In this assignment you will be choosing a news article that discusses a recent contribution to genetic/genomic knowledge, techniques & technologies and publishing a blog post about the article.

Suggested areas of genetics/genomics include: genetic screening (pre-natal, newborn, etc.), in vitro fertilization, stem cell research, DNA profiling, applications of the Human Genome Project, patenting of DNA, use of GMOs in agriculture, privacy issues with genetic information, gene therapy, etc.

benefit from the technology or its potential applications)
