GOOSNARGH WEB NEWS JANUARY 2013
Christingle Service
It's surprising what some people give to the Church!!
Donations at the Christingle Service on 16th December totalled £342.16 (just short of last years total of £350) This did not include the 20 US cents, 5 Australian cents, 34 Euro cents and a button battery! Which were also donated!
An innovative Christmas
All Christmas service were well attended and allowed our village community to enter into the true spirit of Christmas.
The Crib service on Christmas Eve which was as attended by over 50 adults and 25 children was a new venture for Goosnargh and in spite of a few hiccups is considered well worth repeating.
The Community Carol Service in which members of the wider village community participated was well attended. The collection from the service, which amounted to £122, will be donated to the Church Army.
In addition to the above “The Goosnargh Carol singers” organised by Jim and Jean Standring, had an extremely busy time making more visits than ever to homes and Pubs in the area. They were rewarded by collecting over £1670 which will be donated to MacmillanCancer Support and Cancer Help Preston (Vine House). Congratulations to those worthy souls who contributed to this effort.
