***NOTES: This was originally made for an AP class. Modify as much or as little as you want. The basic instructions provided should be sufficient to have this lesson run on “auto-pilot.”

***You may need to create a login name and password to access the lessons ahead of time.

***Make sure that your students do NOT close out the webquest window before they have their worksheet printed out because the computer will NOT save their work (therefore, they need to be able to do the assignment within one class period)

The assignment:

  1. Go to using Internet Explorer.
  2. Your login ID is “bank5agreed.” No password required.
  3. Enter “<insert quick lesson number here>” for the QL# (Quick Lesson number) in the upper right.
  4. If it asks you to download the latest flash plugin, do so and restart the browser if necessary.
  5. When the web activity starts, enter your first and last name.

Background movies(keep in mind that your ongoing question is “<insert essential webquest question here>

  1. Watch each movie and fill in sufficient answers.
  2. If there is no sound, click the “captions” button when you play the movie.
  3. Make sure you answer each question thoroughly. Your answers will be transferred to a worksheet that you’ll turn in at the end.

Document Analyzer (keep in mind that your ongoing question is <insert essential webquest question here>

  1. Watch/listen to the instructions on document analyzing.
  2. As you read each document, use the mouse to highlight portions of the document that feed into the argument for or against the war being justified.
  3. If you highlight a portion of the document, you MUST comment on how the excerpt applies to the argument.
  4. Make sure you find arguments for both sides. Being able to argue either side of an issue will help you with your essay skills.
  5. These answers will also be transferred to the worksheet that you’ll turn in at the end.
  1. When you have finished both assignments (movie questions and document analysis), click the “save, print, and send” button at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Write “<insert your class title here>” for class.
  3. Write 2-3 paragraphs (about one page) with you answer to the prompt: <insert essential webquest question here> Be sure to cite the primary sources as much as possible as evidence.
  4. Click “Create PDF,” print it, attach your written essay, and turn it in to me.
