The Town of Appomattoxwill be accepting sealed proposals for sanitary sewer extensionnear Plant Drive in Appomattox, VA. Bids will be received at the Public Works Office office at 1799 Church Street, Appomattox, Virginia24522 until2:00 p.m., local prevailing time, Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at which time and place the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. The project consists of providing all labor, materials, equipment, services, and personnel necessary to complete the project, as outlined above and as directed in the contract documents and technical specifications.
Each Bidder will be required to submit with his Bid a bid bond or certified cashiers check equal to five percent (5%) of the Bid proposal. The Contractor to whom the Contract is awarded will be required to furnish performance and payment bonds equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount.
Bidders are required under Title 54, Chapter 7 of the Code of Virginia to show evidence of Certificate of Registration before any bids may be received and considered on any bid or sale-contract of $20,000.00 or more.

An optional pre-bid conference will be held at 1:00 p.m., local prevailing time, on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at the Public Works office. This meeting will not be considered mandatory. Bidders will be held responsible for their bids and for all information pertaining to the conference. Questions about the project should be addressed in writing (email accepted) to Mr. Johnson.
