Building Strengths:-20148th grade math value-added (7.96)
- Met 2014 AMO Reading Proficiency goals for 5 subgroups
-3 year value-added for 8th grade math
- Met State Indicators in 7th Grade Reading, 8th Grade Reading, and 8th Grade Math
Building Areas of Challenge:
- Received a grade of F for AMO overall score.
- Did not meet 2014 AMO Reading Proficiency goals for African American, Hispanic, and IEP subgroups
- Did not meet 2014 AMO Math Proficiency goals for All Students, Economically Disadvantaged, Hispanic, Multiracial, and IEP subgroups.
- Did not meet State Indicators in 7th Grade Math and 8th Grade Science
Focus: (Goals)
1. For the 2014-2015 school year,7th grade math students will meet the achievement indicator on the 2015 building report card and they will show one year’s growth on the 2015 Progress Report.
2. For the 2014-2015 school year, the 7thgrade English students will achieve one year’s growth on the 2015 Progress Report.
3. For the 2014-2015 school year, the 8thgrade science students will meet the achievement indicator on the 2015 building report card.
4. For the 2014-2015 school year,we will meet all of the Math and Reading AMO goals for all of our subgroups.

Actions: / Mid Year Check:7th grade math teachers,including resource room and inclusion,will implement Springboard Mathematics materials and assessments.
7th grade math teachers will implement mastery-based instruction and assessment. / We will use growth and achievement reports from STAR testing in order to gauge our progress.
We will utilize Embedded Assessments and Unit Tests collected by our Teacher Based Teams in order to measure student growth and progress toward our goals.

Actions: / Mid Year Check:RJHS is implementing writing across the curriculum using the writing conventions.
We will focus on the implementation and development of Formative Instructional Practices.
RJHS is implementing CLOSE reading strategies across the curriculum. / We will use growth and achievement reports from STAR testing in order to gauge our progress.
We will use data from Springboard’s Embedded Assessments to monitor progress
We will utilize common assessments and other data to be collected by our Teacher Based Teams in order to measure student growth and progress toward our goals.
3. For the 2014-2015 school year, the 8thgrade science students will meet the achievement indicator on the 2015 building report card.
Actions: / Mid Year Check:The 8th grade science department will use pre and post data to guide instruction.
The 8th grade science department will collaborate with each other on new curriculum topics.
The 8th grade science department will incorporate reading and writing to increase student literacy and achievement. / We will utilize common assessments and other data to be collected by our Teacher Based Teams in order to measure student growth and progress toward our goals.
4. For the 2014-2015 school year,we will meet all of the Math and Reading AMO goals for all of our subgroups.
Actions: / Mid Year Check:7thand 8thgrade math teachers, including resource room and inclusion, will implement the SpringBoard curriculum, materials, and assessments.
7th grade math teachers will implement mastery-based instruction and assessment.
Teachers will group students in STAR according to their subgroup(s) and analyze their growth report after each screener.
Tutoring for students with disabilities is more focused on understanding academic content in order to close achievement gaps and less focused on organizing and completing homework assignments.
We will focus on the implementation and development of Formative Instructional Practices throughout our teaching staff.
Teachers from the Building Leadership Team will explore transformative cultural practices at other school districts. Those teachers will share results and make recommendations for whole staff development. / We will use growth and achievement reports from STAR testing in order to gauge our progress.
We will utilize common assessments and other data to be collected by our Teacher Based Teams in order to measure student growth and progress toward our goals.
We will use the Winter STAR screener to look at student growth.
Tutoring students do iReady at least once per week to track their math progress.
Evidence can be gathered through instructional rounds and walk-throughs.
