Annex А: Test Report N° ABAL-ES-140206
- Object: Determination of basic ballistic characteristics of a bullet caliber 7,62 х 51 mm AP with mark Stiletto.
- Client: Mr. Т. de Saint-Marcq.
- Identification of a target: N° ABAL: 010/1/4.
- Composition of the target: high-resistance steel; commercial brand: 600 Secure (UnionStahl).
- Test date: February 06, 2014.
- Standards applied: STANAG 2920 for estimation of V50.
- N° ABAL: 010/1/4.
- The Report includes results of 14 tests. Estimation V50 shows that bullet caliber 7,62 х 51 mm AP STILETTO has higher armour-piercing force than two classical AP of similar caliber, in particular FN P80 and CBC.
- Please, pay attention to the fact that so called phenomenon shatter gap, occurs probably at velocities lower that V50. Unfortunately, limited number of available ammunition prevented us to aggravate this aspect.
- We’d like to specify that the following results don’t concern the above target and bullet.
- This Test Report shall not be reproduced except for the full volume without written consent of the Laboratory.

Retardation d 2,5 m has been calculated using experimental data of October 22, 2013 (see opposite, in top on the right). Linear approximation was used based on available data in velocities range obtained during test on February 06, 2014 (see lower on the right).
Impact velocities Vi have been determined based on velocities VL and respectively to retardations R:
Vi =VL – R. 2,5 m (1) / Retardation (m/s/m) Retardation (m/s/m) /
Average velocity in 5 m (m/s)

V50 (m/s) / 334.7
V50 has been calculated using 0.5 mm thick aluminum yaw card. This value is similar to V50 calculated after first series of tests (performed without application of yaw card).
Perforation capacity of presented ammunition is higher than of classical 7,62 х 51 АP (FN P80 CBC). Really, for the same configuration, V50 for ammunition FN P80 and CBC corresponds to 959 m/s and 928 m/s.
Shots 12, 13 and 14 indicate the possible existence of phenomenon "shatter gap." This phenomenon has not been studied before.
