God is concerned thatwhatever you aredoing in life in the home, on the job and in the church must be only for one reason -"To Glorify God."
In Matthew 5:16 we read, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father, who is in heaven."As you glorify the Lord, it will have an impact on others. Thinking of this verse, someone has defined "glorifying God" as "making God look good before a godless world." Did you catch that phrase? "Glorifying God is making God look good before a godless world."
In Romans 15:5-6 we read, "Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be like-minded one toward another according to Jesus Christ, that ye may with one mind and one mouth GLORIFY GOD, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."
Someone said, "I cannot at the same time accept the glory and give God the glory. Glorifying God means being occupied with and committed to His ways rather than preoccupied with and determined to go my own way."
So what does it mean for the church or for you or me as a believer to glorify God?
It means, "To magnify, exalt and elevate the Lord our God as we humble ourselves and defer to His wisdom, His authority."Again remember that "glorifying God" is "making God look good before a godless world."
Again in Psalm 29:1-2 read, “Give unto the LORD, O ye mighty, give unto the LORD glory and strength. Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.” God’s people need to live so that their lives give glory to the God of the Bible, the Living God. The world around us needs to know that there is no God like our God, the God of the Bible. We believe that God is real, amen.
We believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We believe that God the Holy Spirit is co-equal and co-existent with God the Father and God the Son.
We believe the Creator, Elohim, who spoke this universe into existence lives within each believer. We who are born again have become the temple of the living God.
We believe that no other god is like our God, who made the sun, moon, and stars, who opened up the Red Sea and brought the newborn nation of Israel through on dry ground.
The Lord says, “Give Me glory because of Who I am.”
In Isaiah 44:6 the prophet cries, “Thus saith the LORD the king of Israel, and the redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.” Then in verse 8 we read, “Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses, Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.”
May God's blessing be upon you this week as you read and meditate on the message in our studies from Revelation chapters 1-5, Jesus is Coming Again – “He that hath an ear, let him hear." To easily access the Weekly SERMON message, go to and click on the http:/ link at the bottom of this page.
