Scientific Meeting Support

Application Form

The Geochemistry Group offers monetary contributions (typically of the order of £250) to support national and international meetings on geochemical topics being organised by sister scientific societies and groups. Eligibility depends on the following conditions:

  1. Geochemistry Group funding must be used explicitly to support a significant enhancement of the meeting (e.g. defraying the travel costs of an internationally recognised keynote speaker), and not for general administrative expenses.
  2. The Geochemistry Group should be identified as one of the sponsors of the meeting, preferably by printing the Group’s logo on the meeting program and publicity.

Organisers seeking Geochemistry Group support should complete the form below and forward it to the Group Treasurer, normally at least 12 months before the proposed meeting is scheduled to take place. The applicant will be notified of the committee’s decision as quickly as possible; no commitments should be entered into before confirmation of funding has been received. Successful applicants are required to submit a brief report of the meeting within three months of it being held, for possible publication on the Group’s website.
