A HOUSE RESOLUTION
TO CONGRATULATE THE WACCAMAW HIGH SCHOOL BOYS TENNIS TEAM, OF GEORGETOWN COUNTY, FOR WINNING THE 2007 CLASS AAA STATE TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP, AND TO HONOR THE PLAYERS, COACH JAMES BROWN, AND ASSISTANT COACH BROWDER MCGILL.
Whereas, the Waccamaw High School boys tennis team concluded its outstanding season by capturing the 2007 Class AAA State Championship on May 5, 2007, defeating a strong Christ Church team by a 42 decision at the Richland Tennis Center; and
Whereas, the stellar showing of the Warriors for the title run is a tribute to the fine coaching skills and abilities of Coach James Brown and Assistant Coach Browder McGill, who are of the same championship caliber as their team members; Coach Brown deservedly has been recognized as this year’s boys South Carolina AllStar Coach, Region 7AA Coach of the Year, and the South Carolina Sports Report Coach of the Year; and
Whereas, Champions Challenge Tournament top winners, as well as AAA state champs, Waccamaw’s standout players are Wesley Moran, State Singles Champion, AllState, and Sun News Toast of the Coast Player of the Year; Thomas Ligon, AllState; Billy Kenny, AllState; Will Richmond, AllRegion; Josh Richmond, AllRegion; H.B. Marshall; Michael Moran; and Harrison Richmond; and
Whereas, the accomplishments of the Waccamaw High School tennis team this year and the manner in which its members conducted themselves both on and off the court have brought deserved accolades, not only upon each member of the team and the coaching staff but also upon their school, county, and State; and
Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives desire to publicly recognize and congratulate this talented group of young men upon capturing a truly wellearned championship. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate the Waccamaw High School boys tennis team, of Georgetown County, for winning the 2007 Class AAA State Tennis Championship, and honor the players, Coach James Brown, and Assistant Coach Browder McGill.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Waccamaw High School tennis team, Coach James Brown, and Assistant Coach Browder McGill.
