ITE HONG Kong 2017 - ENCOURAGING RESPONSES for a BIGGER EVENT

The next ITE Hong Kong, the city’s only travel fair including the leisure focused 31st ITE and the 12th ITE MICE, will be held from June 15 to 18, 2017 at Halls 1A to 1E of the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. With a highly international profile of exhibitors, last year the travel fair drew from 52 destinations from all over the world over 600 exhibitors of which 86% from abroad.

Some repeating official pavilions and individual exhibitors substantially expanding their presence, and new exhibitors from both repeating and new destinations will result in a bigger and more interesting ITE Hong Kong in 2017!

Meet affluent travelers and Regional Travel Trade

The first two days of ITE Hong Kong is for trade only, and the last two days open to public. In 2016, overall, it drew over 12000 regional buyers and trade visitors of which over 6000 from travel agents and 2400 from corporations and MICE industry; nearly 88000 public visitors of whom 84% prefer traveling in FIT / private group.

ITE Hong Kong targets sophisticated and affluent travelers who can be management taking part in a regional corporate event, or affluent FIT in a holiday arranged around a particular travel theme such as sport.

Expansions & New Exhibitors

Each year ITE features over 30 official pavilions / stands, and they often bring in new exhibitors especially when expanding. Examples of repeating pavilions with substantial expansion this year include those of Guam which doubles in size, and Taiwan with size exceeding 300 SQM not counting some Taiwanese city and enterprise taking own stand!

An interesting case, Japan has been expanding in ITE since 2011, from under 30 stands then to over 70 last year! Coincidentally, it also attracts more visitors from Hong Kong, to over 1.8 million Hong Kong visitors last year from under 400,000 in 2011! A new trend of several Japanese prefectures exhibiting with, say, a Japanese travel agent will likely bring in even more Japanese exhibitors this year!

Confirmed and reserved new exhibitors this year include official pavilions / stands, and enterprises taking own stand who can come from repeatedly and newly exhibiting destinations which for examples include Argentina, Barcelona, Vienna, Israel, Jordan, PakistanandPeru etc

New exhibitors this year include providers of theme travel products such as skiing resorts in the European Alps, and religious tours etc. Likely, those above and other cases from enquiries in process will bring the total number of exhibiting countries and regions of ITE this year close to or exceeding sixty!

Theme Travels attract Affluent Travelers

Rather unique in Asia, ITE Hong Kong promotes theme travels which are particularly attractive to affluent travelers. For examples, 188 exhibitors in last event promoted MICE / Corporate travel; 132 exhibitors promoted Sport Tourism while 22% of the trade visitors and 27% of the public visitors interested in the theme; and 152 exhibitors promoted Culture while 30% trade visitors and 49% public visitors interested.

Each year ITE Hong Kong promotes around 10 travel themes through seminars, special displays, targeted promotions and working with related organizations and /or groups of interested travelers.

B2B Program to help Exhibitors

Free and optional activities in trade days include, for examples, some 20 seminars on leisure, MICE and corporate travels; Business Matching held in a room for quick dating between buyers and sellers; and Meeting Packages Mart that focuses on meeting packages. Also, exhibitors can hold their own trade seminar which the organizer can help promoting audiences.

Pre-opening, we send regularly e-newsletters to trade visitors and publish details of exhibitors, exhibits and trade seminars on the trade website which in January this year drew 20694 unique visitors! We have also B2C program to help exhibitors too!
