Keynote Speaker: George M. Batsche
George M. Batsche is Professor and Director of the Institute for School Reform and Coordinator of Graduate Programs in School Psychology at the University of South Florida. He is Director of the Florida Statewide Problem-Solving/Response to Intervention Project and Co-Director (with Dr. Don Kincaid-Florida PBS) of the Florida MTSS Project for the Florida Department of Education. Dr. Batsche currently serves as the Vice-Chair of the Professional Advisory Board for NCLD and is a past-president of the National Association of School Psychologists. Dr. Batsche has received more than $100 million dollars in grants from the U.S. Department of Education, Florida Department of Education and private foundations. The majority of his work has focused on systems of implementing academic and behavior interventions for at-risk students. Dr. Batsche is a certified school psychologist, licensed clinical psychologist, and certified school administrator. He has worked as a university professor and researcher, school principal, district administrator and as a school and clinical psychologist.
Dr. Batsche's experience includes work as a university professor and researcher, school psychologist, district-level administrator, building principal and consultant to school districts and state agencies regarding implementation of problem-solving/response to intervention. Dr. Batsche is the author or co-author of numerous books or book chapters on Response to Intervention. Curriculum vitae:

Grant D’Augustine, Ed.S.,School Psychologist, Loudoun County Virginia Public Schools
Grant D’Augustine received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at The College of Wooster in 2008, and his Education Specialist Degree (Ed.S.) in 2011 at Bowling Green State University. He began his professional career at the Putnam County Educational Service Center located in Ottawa, Ohio. After one year working as a school psychologist and data coordinator, he moved to Charlottesville City Schools for two years. Within this school district, he helped initiate a benchmarking and progress monitoring system per MTSS standards at two of his schools. He also facilitated the data meetings. In the fall of 2013, he accepted a new position at Loudoun County Public Schools and assisted in the implementation of the Responsive Instruction (RI) process at one of his schools within the district.
Jennifer Laible, MEd, Educational Diagnostician, Loudoun County Virginia Public Schools
Jennifer Laible is in her fourth year working as an Educational Diagnostician for Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS), where she serves over three thousand students. She facilitates the implementation of Responsive Instruction (RI). Prior to this position, she worked as a cross-categorical special education teacher in LCPS and Nelson County, Virginia. Jennifer has a Master’s in Education in Special Education from the University of Virginia, Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and History from College of William and Marywhere she graduated as a Monroe Scholar. She also recently completed her Educational Leadership certification through George Mason University. Jennifer lives her husband and two young sons in Ashburn, Virginia.
Marsye W. Kaplan, M.S., CCC-SLP-ATP, Chief, Specialized Instruction Section, Programmatic Support and Technical Assistance,Maryland State Department of Education, Division of Special Education/Early Intervention Services
Mrs. Kaplan is a speech-language pathologist with over 40 years of experience working with children with disabilities. She is the Specialized Instruction Section Chief at the Maryland State Department of Education. Marsye was the recipient of the Maryland Outstanding Technology Leader in Education Award in 2012. She has also participates and presents on many assistive technology and universal design for learning initiatives locally and nationally. In addition, Marsye is an adjunct instructor at Johns Hopkins and Towson Universities.
