- Traffic concerns: Talkmail and email has been sent home describing the issue. The administration has decided to focus in on this at this point in the year as the situation is dangerous. There is a kiss and drop zone (near the teacher parking lot); however, it is not frequently used. The administration has asked for support from the police and the city, but no response. After a complaint from a neighbor on Keillor, the by-law officer was asking the people to not park on the road after school. There should be no parking on Keillor or on the opposite side of Echo. The administration is scared that a student will get hurt. The administration thought a crossing guard could be beneficial. Counsellor Butler suggested that the PSSC write a letter asking for a crossing guard for the cross walk guard on Echo drive.
- New schedule: Created for a few reasons. 1) Teachers would have a chance to meet in professional learning communities. On Mondays and Fridays, students have the opportunity to start school later, 9:15,take part in breakfast club, be in the library or computer labs, or in supervised hallways 2) On the other days, students have the opportunity to receive extra help in an assigned block (parents will be made aware if students need to attend) or students have the opportunity to take part in different activities during WIN block. The new schedule is designed to provide extra support for our students.
- The next step in the mission and vision will be focusing on the 6 C’s (outlined in agenda) in the classroom.
- Possibility of SPR’s to present to the PSSC this year.
- Next meeting date : TBD
- Adjournment
