Spanish 1B Fall 2016 Semester Exam Review Sheet

REMEMBER: This review sheet is USELESS if you do not take your notebook home to review with!

YOU WILL ONLY BE TAKING A PAPER TEST THIS TIME – NO OTHER PORTIONS ARE NEEDED!

VOCABULARY YOU SHOULD KNOW:

  • All your “basic conversation” phrases  (These are in your old notebook from last year)
  • Know how to match the appropriate response to the stated question (EX: ¿Cómo estás?  Estoy bien.)
  • Days of the week  p. 4
  • Be able to match the day of the week in Spanish with its English counterpart
  • Know the order of days in Spanish
  • REMEMBER that the Spanish week starts on Monday (lunes) NOT Sunday (domingo)
  • Months of the year & Seasons  p. 3
  • Be able to match the month in Spanish with its English counterpart
  • Know the order of days in Spanish AND which season each is part of
  • Numbers up to 1000  p. 6
  • This means knowing 1-19, and your “tens”.
  • The only other thing you need to know is “the formula”
  • Hundreds need to be memorized!
  • Time – p. 7
  • Know how to tell time in Spanish using:
  • “Es la una y (minutes)” for any time in the 1 o’clock hour
  • “Son las (hour) y (minutes)” for any time other than the 1 o’clock hour
  • KNOW THE DIFFERENCE between “mediodía” and “medianoche”
  • Colors - p. 8
  • Be able to match the color in Spanish with its English counterpart
  • Be able to match the color in Spanish with a something that is that color (EX: carrot  anaranjado)
  • School Supplies & Classes – pg. 10
  • Be able to match the class/supply in Spanish with its English counterpart
  • Subject pronouns – p. 11
  • Be able to see a picture or see names and match them to the correct subject pronoun in Spanish
  • Gustar – p. 13 – 15
  • Know when to use “gusta” and “gustan” to complete a sentence
  • Know the difference between reflexive pronouns for all subjects to complete a sentence
  • (EX: Tú = te gusta/gustan; Nosotros = nos gusta/gustan) FIND THIS ON PG. 14
  • The verb tener & its expressions – p. 16 – 18
  • Be able to match the correct form of the verb “tener” with the subject to complete a sentence
  • Be able to match pictures/definitions with tener expressions (EX: Ella tiene frío./Tengo hambre.)
  • The verb ir and how to use it to talk about the future using “ir + a + infinitives” – p. 19 - 21
  • Be able to match the correct from of the verb “ir” with the subject to complete a sentence
  • Know the difference forms of “ir”
  • Regular verb conjugation – p. 22 & 24
  • Know the different endings for –AR, -IR, & -ER verbs
  • Be able to take an infinitive verb in parentheses and choose the correct form to complete the sentence
  • Ser & Estar – p. 5 & 23
  • Know the different forms of “ser” and “estar” and use them to correctly complete a sentence.
  • Take time to study how they are used! (p. 23)
  • SER:
  • Know how to use it with the correct form of an adjective (masculine/feminine/singular/plural)
  • ESTAR:
  • Know how to use it to express emotion and how to use it with the present progressive (p. 28-29)
  • Stem-changing verbs – p. 25 – 27
  • Know how to perform a stem-change (There are 4 steps!)
  • I will separate the questions by TYPE of stem-change (EX: oue/eie/ei)
  • MAPS – p. 31 – 32
  • Know countries and capitals
  • At least 2 questions each from Central America, the Caribbean, and South America
  • Know the capital of Spain!
  • Shopping vocab – p. 34, 37, 39-40
  • Be able to match the store name to what it sells
  • Know the difference between size terms for clothes and shoes
  • Clothing vocab – p. 35-36, 38, 52
  • Be able to match clothing terms with a picture
  • Be able to choose the correct Spanish phrase with its English counterpart
  • (EX: the red shirt  la camisa roja)
  • The Preterite (PAST TENSE CONJUGATIONS) – p. 41-46
  • Know the two sets of endings for –AR & -ER/-IR
  • Be able to match the correct form with the subject to complete a sentence
  • IRREGULAR preterite verbs – p. 50 - 51
  • Know the charts for “IR” and “SER”
  • Know the endings for common irregular verbs and the endings used with them (p. 51)
  • Reflexive Verbs – p. 54 - 55
  • Know how to conjugate reflexive verbs (There are steps!)
  • Know how to express what hurts (Me duele/Me duelen)
  • Parts of the body/the head – p. 56 – 57
  • Know the parts of the body in Spanish and be able to match the English word or a picture
  • Routine vocabulary – p. 58
  • Be able to match the verb with its definition in English or a picture
  • Direct Objects/Direct Object Pronouns – p. 59 – 60
  • Be able to identify the direct object of a sentence
  • MEMORIZE the direct object pronoun chart!
  • Be able to choose the correct D.O.P. to complete a sentence
