Grading Policy:Standards Based Grading System:

A 100 – 93Quests 90%

B92 – 85 Tests/Other 10%

C84 – 75

D70 – 74

F69 – below

Quests (90%): Quests are a combination of tests and quizzes, smaller than a test and bigger than a quiz. They will be used to directly assess the standards. Each quest will contain 2 old standards and 2 new standards, for a total of 4 standards.

  • There will be 3-5 questions per standard on each assessment. Students will earn a 5 point grade for each standard tested, so one assessment will give them 4 grades.
  • Once the class has been tested over the standard twice, you will receive a total grade out of 10. This is the grade that will be added to the grade book.

There will be opportunities for reassessments.

**Students must provide proof of effort to relearn material to reassess (this will be left up to teacher discretion). For example: tutoring, extra practice problem, Kahn Academy videos, etc.

  • First reassessment can earn up to 9.5/10
  • Second reassessment can earn up to 9/10
  • Third reassessment can earn up to 8.5/10

Each reassessment wipes out the previous score. For example, if a student earns a 7/10 on the first assessment and retakes it once and earns an 8/10, then the grade will be 8/10. However, if the student earns an 8/10 on the first assessment and retakes it once and earns a 7/10, the grade will be a 7/10.

ALL reassessments MUST be completed by the end of the 9 weeks grading period.

Tests/Other (10%): Tests will be given at the end of every 9 weeks. They will be testing everything the student has covered during the current 9 weeks. This 10% will also be used for other assignments that your student’s teacher assigns. Those assignments are up to that particular teacher.

I have read the class syllabus and understand what I need to bring to class and what is expected each day.
