Introduction
The Two Accounts of the Two Foundations
Mat 7: 24-27 KJV
“Therefore, whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock; and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened to a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand; and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell; and great was the fall of it.”
Luk 6: 47-49 KJV
“Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: ‘He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it; for it was founded upon a rock.
But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation, built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.’ ”

The Rock as a Foundation
Joh 1: 3-5 KJV
“All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. /and the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.”
Because, Jesus Christ made all things in Heaven and on earth. He conquered the darkness.
Joh 3: 5-6 KJV
“Jesus answered, Verily, verily I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of Spirit is spirit.” Marvel not that I said, unto thee, ye must be born again.”
Because, except a man be born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God.
Joh 12: 44-47 KJV
“Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on Him that sent me. And he that seeth me seeth Him that sent me. I amcome a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not; for I came not to judge the world but to save the world.
Because, Jesus Christ has come as a light into the world.
Joh 12: 48-50 KJV
He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him; the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken of myself: but the Father which sent me, He gave me my commandment, what should I say, and what I should speak. And I know that His commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.”
Because, Jesus Christ speaks not of himself: but the Father.
Joh 15: 1-8 KJV
“I AM the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit He taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, He purgeth it that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word, which I have spoken unto you.
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me, ye can do nothing.
If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.”
Because, Jesus Christ is the True Vine.
Act 10: 36-38 KJV
“The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peaceby Jesus Christ; (he is Lord of all). That word, I say, ye know which was published throughout all Judea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached. How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”
Because, Jesus Christ was sent to preach peace to the children of God.
Rom 1: 16-17 KJV
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ; for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth: to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”
Because, the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the power of God.
1 Cor 10: 1-4 KJV
“Moreover, brethren , I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea: and were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and the sea; and all did eat the same spiritual meat; and did all dink the same spiritual drink; for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.”
Because, Jesus Christ was and still is that spiritual Rock.
2Tim 2: 15-19 KJV
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings; for they will increase unto more ungodliness. And the word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymeneus and Philietus; who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and over throw the faith of some. Nevertheless the foundationof God standeth sure, having this seal;theLord knoweth them that are his. And let the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”
Because, Jesus Christ is the Foundation of God, upon which everything stands.
1Joh 3: 2-8 KJV
“Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be; but we know that when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purefieth himself, even as he is pure. Whosoever commiteth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not; whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. Little children, let no man deceive you; he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that commiteth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.”
Because, Jesus Christ was manifested to take away our sins and to destroy the works of the devil.
Rev 21: 22-27 KJV
“And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it” for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb in the light thereof.
And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do being their glory and honor into it. And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
And they shall bring the glory and honor of the nations into it. And there shall in no wise enter into it anything that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, nor maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.”
Because God is Holy (Psa 99)
Rev 22: 6 KJV
“And behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give everyman according as his work shall be. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.”
Because, Jesus Christ is the beginning: the end and everything in between.
Rev 22: 14 -15 KJV
“Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city, for without are dogs, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie”
The Sand/ Earth as a Foundation
Gen 1: 11-12 KJV
“And God said, ‘Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after its kind, whose seed in in itself, upon the earth’: and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the third day.”
Because, God saw that it was good.
Gen 2: 15-17 KJV
“And the LORD God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man saying, Of every tree of the garden thou may freely eat: but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day thou eat of thereof thou shalt surely die.”
Because the LORD God commanded the man.
Gen 3: 4-6
“And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die; for God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her and he did eat.”
Because the devil lied; saying that by eating of the tree, they would become as gods.
Gen 3: 17-19 KJV
“And unto Adam he (the LORD God) said, ‘Because thou hast hearkened
unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground forthy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life.
“Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalteat the herb of the field; in the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.”
Because, LORD God cursed the ground because of Adam’s disobedience.
Gen 3: 23-24 KJV
“And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat and live forever; Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden to till the ground from whence he was taken. So he drove out the man: and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden, Cherubims and a flaming sword which turned every which way, to keep the way of the tree of life.”
Because the man was at risk of living forever, afflicted with sin and its wages.
Luk 10: 18 KJV
“ He (Jesus) said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightening fall from heaven. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpiuons, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Notwithstanding, in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.”
I (Jesus) beheld Satan fall from heaven.
Gal 5: 16-21 KJV
“This I say then, ‘Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revilings and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”
Because, these are the ‘works of the flesh’.
Rom 6: 22-23 KJV
“But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Because, the wages of sin is death …the end of everlasting life.
1Cor 1: 20 KJV
“What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost, which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For we are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
The Will the Wish or Desire
Jos 24: 14-15 KJV
“Now, therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness; put away the gods which your fathers served beyond the River, and in Egypt, and serve the LORD. And if you be unwilling to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the river, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
Because we have the ability to choose.
1Chr 29: 3-5 KJV
“ Moreover, in addition to all that I have provided for the holy house, I have treasure of my own of gold and silver, and because of my devotion to the house of my God I give it to the house of my God: three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of O’phir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, for overlaying the walls of the house, and for all the work to be done by craftsmen, gold for the things of gold and silver for the things of silver. Who then will offer *willingly, consecrating himself to the LORD?
Key Greek word: nadah - defined as: “to offer (self) willingly, make willing”. Young’s Analytical Concordance to the Bible, page 1056, #9, #10
Joh 12: 23-26 KJV
“And Jesus answered them; The hour has come for the Son of man to be glorified. Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat fall to the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. He who loves his life loses it, and he who hates his life, in this world will keep it, for eternal life. If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there shall my servant be also; if any one serves me, the Father will honor him.”
Because the Believer’s will (wish or desire) joins with his faith, to become the foundation upon which the Believer has chosen to build his house.
Amo 3: 3 KJV
“Can two walk together, except they agree?”
Because the options have been made plain. The rewards and the consequences have been made plain and men now have “no excuse”for not knowing :
(a)good from evil.
(b)eternal life from eternal death.
(c)Who Jesus is.
(d)What Jesus did.
(e)Why Jesus did and continues to do.
