2. Project Title: North Santa Monica Bay Water Quality Improvement Project
3. Project Purpose – Problem Being Addressed: This project represents the first phase of an implementation program designed to be consistent with the objectives of the Santa Monica Bay Beaches Bacteria TMDL in an iterative and adaptive watershed management approach. The completion of this project will give agencies a methodology to reduce bacteria loading entering the Santa Monica Bay with the most efficient use of resources.
4. Project Goals
a. Short-term Goals: Develop prioritization criteria for ranking nonpoint source pollution projects within the North Santa Monica Bay.
b. Long-term Goals: 1) Construct a BMP demonstration project that will significantly reduce bacteria loads to the Santa Monica Bay for at least one priority location. 2) Continually utilize the prioritization criteria to efffectively use available resources.
