Everybody needs a Theme Song…..
Everybody needs a theme song or a motto, a mantra for how you live your life. What is yours?
Name it, Claim it, Explain it!
You will write a personal narrative about your theme song or poem. You need to reference the song or the poem that inspired this life mantra. You might include lyrics from the song or lines from the poem as you explain the connection between the song/the poem and your life. Using the theme as your guiding focus, tell the story of who you are and how you got here.
A few things your personal narrative must to do……
1. Hook the reader!!! Make the personal narrative engaging and interesting to read. Grab the reader’s attention.
2. Reference a specific song or poem. Include the title and author.
3. Mention specific and personal quirks, likes/dislikes, life experiences, interests/hobbies, or other things that have shaped who you are.
· What motivates you? Has your involvements in a certain sport guided your life so far?
· What challenges you? Has your membership in an organization or group helped you learn about yourself and what matters to you?
· What is important to you? Have you been inspired by someone you know personally or someone you have seen in the news?
4. Wrap it Up!! End you narrative with a powerful “last thought”. Don’t just summarize your main points. Wow your reader from start to finish.

· Paragraph 1 – Name it & Claim it! - Hook and Song/Poem Reference
· Paragraph 2 – Explain it!
· Paragraph 3 – Wrap it up!
