Safeguarding guidance for Beacon and Out of School settings

Beacon settings will ensure; / Hampshire will provide;
  • regard to safeguarding is recognised in all policies, procedures and practices

  • Safeguarding information and support is provided through e-learning and Hampshire’s safeguarding websites and the Area InCos safeguarding website

  • amember of staff with a responsibility for safeguarding to support and mentor other members of their team with their safeguarding issues and concerns. Child protection and advanced child protection training is seen as priority for all staff.

  • an Area InCo service thatcan signpost to child protection training, safer recruiting training and advice and guidance around safeguarding practices.

  • liaison with social care team when necessary and an clear understanding of the referral process

  • there are regular risk assessment checks made on the premises and perimeter to ensure the premises are safe, secure and suitable for their purpose; all access doors be securely fastened and the perimeter secure against potential intruders. Door alarms are provided where necessary

  • that safeguarding practices will be evaluated regularly in line with Hampshire’s guidance
