Sexual Assault Crisis Center Support Groups

All groups are offered on a first-come, first-served basis,

don’t wait to register! Call (920) 733-8119.

All services, including groups and individual short-term counseling,

are provided at no cost to clients.

The following groups are offered in Fall 2013:

TUESDAYS (beginning October 1st)

Elementary Co-ed Boys’ and Girls’ Support Group

  • For 6-8 year old boys and girls who are non-offending victims of sexual abuse
  • Meets on Tuesdays, beginning October 1stfrom 4:30-6:00 p.m.
  • Meets for 10 weeks
  • Members are required to attend eight out of ten sessions
  • Meets at the Sexual Assault Crisis Center
  • Group size is limited to eight children; with a minimum of three participants
  • Membership is on a first-come, first served basis
  • Pre-registration is required
  • Is co-facilitated by trained facilitators
  • Each participant must meet with a therapist at Sexual Assault Crisis Center for a group intake prior to the first night of group (unless he or she is a current or recent client at the Sexual Assault Crisis Center)

Pre-Adolescent Girls’ Support Group

  • For 9-12 year old girls who are non-offending victims of sexual abuse
  • Meets on Tuesdays, beginning October 1stfrom 4:30-6:00 p.m.
  • Meets for 10 weeks
  • Members are required to attend eight out of ten sessions
  • Meets at the Sexual Assault Crisis Center
  • Group size is limited to eight girls; with a minimum of three participants
  • Membership is on a first-come, first served basis
  • Pre-registration is required
  • Is co-facilitated by trained facilitators
  • Each participant must meet with a therapist at Sexual Assault Crisis Center for a group intake prior to the first night of group (unless she is a current or recent client at the Sexual Assault Crisis Center)

Adolescent Girls’ Support Group

  • For 13-18 year old girls who are non-offending victims of sexual abuse
  • Girls must be in middle school or high school (once a girl has graduated from high school, she is not able to be in this group; she is then eligible to attend the Women’s Group)
  • Meets on Tuesdays, beginning October 1st from4:30-6:00 p.m.
  • Meets for 10 weeks
  • Members are required to attend eight out of ten sessions
  • Meets at the Sexual Assault Crisis Center
  • Group size is limited to eight girls; with a minimum of three participants
  • Membership is on a first-come, first served basis
  • Pre-registration is required
  • Is co-facilitated by trained facilitators
  • Each participant must meet with a therapist at the Sexual Assault Crisis Center for a group intake prior to the first night of group (unless she is a current or recent client at the SACC)
  • A waiting list may need to be created for a second group, depending on the response

Non-Offending Parents’ and Family Members’ Support Group

  • For non-offending parents, foster-parents, grandparents, their partners, and/or adult siblings of children who have been sexually abused
  • Group members are not required to have a child attending a support group
  • Meets on Tuesdays, beginning October 1st from4:30-6:00 p.m.
  • Meets for 10 weeks
  • Members may come as many or as few times as is feasible for them
  • Meets at the Sexual Assault Crisis Center
  • There is currently not a limit on group size
  • Pre-registration is NOT required
  • Is co-facilitated by trained facilitators
  • Group members will be asked to fill out a short registration form the first time they attend group

Women’s Support Group

  • For women 18 years old and older who are non-offending victims of sexual abuse
  • Women must be out of high school to be eligible to attend the Women’s Group
  • Meets on Tuesdays, beginning October 1st from 6:30-8:00 p.m.
  • Meets for 10 weeks
  • Members are required to attend eight out of ten sessions
  • Meets at the Sexual Assault Crisis Center
  • Group size is limited to eight women; with a minimum or three participants
  • Membership is on a first-come, first served basis
  • Pre-registration is required
  • Is co-facilitated by trained facilitators
  • Each participant must meet with a therapist at the Sexual Assault Crisis Center for a group intake prior to the first night of group (unless he is a current or recent client at the Sexual Assault Crisis Center)

Men’s Support Group

  • For men 18 years old and older who are non-offending victims of sexual abuse
  • Men must be out of high school to be eligible to attend the Men’s Group
  • Meets on Thursdays, beginning October 3rdfrom 5:00-6:30 p.m.
  • Meets for 10 weeks
  • Members are required to attend eight out of ten sessions
  • Meets at the Sexual Assault Crisis Center
  • Group size is limited to eight men; with a minimum of three participants
  • Membership is on a first-come, first served basis
  • Pre-registration is required
  • Is co-facilitated by trained facilitators
  • Each participant must meet with a therapist at the Sexual Assault Crisis Center for a group intake prior to the first night of group (unless he is a current or recent client at the Sexual Assault Crisis Center)
