RACE 1 – OAKS DAY 15 MARCH PACE DIVISION ONE – 2090 METRES

Pre-race swab samples were taken from GOSH HEZA REBEL NZ, PHAROAHS WRATH and LIFEISWHATHAPPENS.

TERROR JONES raced rough after the start whilst being restrained.

TERRITORIAL which hung out and broke while being restrained racing into the back straight on the first occasion has been placed on its last chance to race truly.

PHAROAHS WRATH pulled hard whilst racing on the leaders back and was unable to obtain a run over the concluding stages.

Driver Mark Yole (LIFEISWHATHAPPENS) was fined the sum of $100 under AR 162(1)(y) for failing to adhere to the minimal sectional time requirements for this event.

RACE 2 – TATTSBET PACE – 2090 METRES

Pre-race swab samples were taken from CLASSIC FALCON and MAJOR CALLUM NZ.

Stewards inquired into the reasons for CLASSIC FALCON being checked and breaking racing into the first turn. After taking evidence from drivers Samantha Freeman (CLASSIC FALCON) and Nicholas Brockman (MAJOR CALLUM NZ), Mr Brockman pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 163(1)(a) and his licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of 3 race dates commencing midnight 23 February 2015 and expiring midnight 8 March 2015.

Stewards inquired into the reasons for TIZYALATOR contacting marker pegs on the first turn. After taking evidence from drivers Adrian Collins (TIZYALATOR), Matthew Cooper (MES ELSU NZ) and Samantha Freeman (CLASSIC FALCON), Miss Freeman pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 163(1)(a) for causing and contributing to interference, the particulars being that when shifting from a three wide position to a position one off the pegs she did so when insufficiently clear taking MES ELSU NZ down onto TIZYALATOR. Miss Freeman’s licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of 2 race dates commencing midnight 23February 2015 and expiring midnight 2 March 2015.

JANE GRANT has been placed back in the mobile barrier draw.

RACE 3 – ALLEN WILLIAMS MEMORIAL HEAT SIX – 2090 METRES

FIRE UP FRANCO was fractious before the start then broke and was out of position at the start before tailing the field for the remainder of the event. The gelding has been placed out of the draw for future mobile start events.

THATSWHATSHESAID raced greenly passing the 400 metres and contacted the sulky tyre of BILLY KHAN causing a flat tyre.

Passing the 300 metres BILLY KHAN (James Austin) shifted in slightly, at the same time BAROOZA (Todd Rattray) shifted out slightly and broke, however Stewards deemed that no action be taken due to the shift from both horses and the fact that no contact was made.

RACE 4 – OFFICE NATIONAL PACE – 2090 METRES

Pre-race swab samples were taken from MY MATE NICK and JOAN GRANT.

IDEN MISTER ED which broke shortly after the start has been placed out of the draw for future mobile start events.

Stewards inquired into the reasons for NOTE WORTHY LOMBO contacting marker pegs shortly before the winning post on the first occasion. After taking evidence from drivers Mark Yole (NOTE WORTHY LOMBO), Paul Hill (IDEN MISTER ED) and Nicholas Brockman (MY MATE NICK), Mr Brockman was found guilty of a charge under AR 163(1)(a) for tightening and was fined the sum of $200.

After initially contacting one marker peg NOTE WORTHY LOMBO shortly after hung in of its own accord and became unbalance, contacted further pegs and broke.

PRISONER which was fractious in the score up and, then regained its position before breaking shortly before the start will continue to be placed out of the draw for future mobile start events. The gelding then tailed the field for the remainder of the event.

JOAN GRANT has been placed back in the mobile barrier draw.

RACE 5 – DERBY DAY 22 MARCH PACE – 2090 METRES

Pre-race swab samples were taken from WHO IS HARDEEN and FRANCO SHEFFIELD NZ.

As the tapes were released MIGHTY JASPER went backwards contacting the sulky of HELEN WHEELS, dislodging the mare’s driver Dylan Ford. HELEN WHEELS then continued driverless down the track. The starter called a false start and the stewards activated the siren to warn the other drivers of the driverless horse. HELEN WHEELS underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to run. Driver Dylan Ford was examined by the on course ambulance officers and was passed fit to fulfil his engagements. Connections were advised that MIGHTY JASPER has been placed out of the draw for future standing start events.

In the home straight PRETTYBOYTROY shifted out sharply despite the efforts of driver Paul Hill. As a result PADDYS ACE (Wade Rattray) was taken out onto SCRUFFY JAKE (Nicholas Brockman) which was in turn taken out onto KAROOLA TOWN (Braydon Withers) which was checked and broke. HELEN WHEELS which was held up for clear racing room at the time also had to be checked by its driver. Stewards issued a charge to driver Paul Hill (PRETTYBOYTROY) under the provisions of AR 168(1) however after considering the evidence put forward by Mr Hill in defence of his not guilty plea the charge was not sustained.

TOUCHWOOD TEEKSTA has been placed back in the standing start draw.

Post-race swab samples were taken from COOL WHARTON the winner of the event.

RACE 6 – H.G.R.C. PACE – 2090 METRES

Pre-race swab samples were taken from WESTERN KARAMEA NZ and LUKE PETER NZ.

Driver Brady Woods (THE ADRIATIC NZ) was found guilty of a charge under AR 168(1) for careless driving; the particulars being that he allowed his drive to contact the sulky of ROCKBANK DANCER racing towards the 400 metres. In determining penalty stewards considered Mr Woods’ poor recent record under the rule and suspended Mr Woods’ licence to drive in races for a period of 2 race dates commencing midnight 23 February 2015 and expiring midnight 2 March 2015.

THE ADRIATIC NZ underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed the gelding to have sustained abrasions to its near hind cannon and off fore heel.

Stewards adjourned an inquiry into an incident which occurred in the home straight involving THE ADRIATIC NZ (Brady Woods), ROCKBANK DANCER (Gareth Rattray) and WESTERN KARAMEA NZ (Mark Yole).

RACE 7 – DUAL CODE PACE – 2090 METRES

FARAWAY MAN pulled hard in the score up and throughout the event.

GIVITANAME which after racing outside the leader then tired over the concluding stages underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no apparent abnormalities. Connections have been advised that the gelding has been placed on its last chance to race truly.

SKY TOWER was unable to obtain a clear run over the concluding stages.

RACE 8 – LACHLAN HOTEL PACE DIVISION TWO – 2090 METRES

Pre-race swab samples were taken from ISLAND AFFAIR and COOKED BOOKS.

ALPINION broke in the score up checking runners on the second row and the starter called a false start on the first occasion. On the second occasion ALPINION broke shortly after the start and then tailed the field. Connections have been advised that the gelding has been placed out of the draw for future mobile start events.

BUNJIL BOY raced rough in the score up.

COOKED BOOKS which broke under pressure rounding the home turn has been placed on its last chance to race truly.

AVENTADOR pulled hard whilst leading the event.

Post-race swab samples were taken from AVENTADOR the winner of the event.

Driver Nathan Ford (AVENTADOR) was fined the sum of $100 under AR 162(1)(y) for failing to meet the minimum sectional time requirements of this event.

Driver Brady Woods (FIERCE TURBULENCE) was found guilty of a charge under AR 163(1)(a) for causing interference to COOKED BOOKS shortly before the winning post on the first occasion. COOKED BOOKS raced roughly as a result. Mr Woods’ licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of 2 race dates commencing midnight 2 March 2015 and expiring midnight 9 March 2015.

Driver Dylan Ford (COOKED BOOKS) was found guilty of a charge under AR 163(1)(b) for causing FIERCE TURBULENCE to cover more ground than necessary whilst racing around the first turn. Mr Ford’s licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of 2 race dates commencing midnight 23 February 2015 and expiring midnight 2 March 2015.
