Final Project: The Book Thief

·  You will choose an event in history that interests you. (I.e. WWI, JFK’s assassination, Obama’s inauguration, fall of the Berlin wall, 9-11, shooting at Columbine, etc.) You may NOT choose WWII.

·  You will research your event. You must find and read a minimum of three sources about you event. WIKIPEDIA IS NOT ALLOWED AS A SOURCE. Using Wikipedia will earn you a zero. (research days 10/22, 10/23, 10/24, 10/27)

·  You will create an MLA formatted annotated bibliography of your sources to turn in on the due date.

·  You will then need to find one quote from that event that represents the event as a whole. (Be sure to include the source of your quote on your annotated bibliography. If your quote comes from a source that simply lists famous quotes, you may not include it as one of the three required sources that you research.)

·  Next, choose 1 or 2 colors that represent the emotions of that event. These colors will be the dominant colors on your finished product.

·  On a HALF sheet of poster board (or approximately that size) you will create a collage of that event. It can be 2D or 3D. You can include symbols that represent the event, photos, etc. You must include both the positives and negatives of the event, and incorporate the quote in some way.

·  You must write a paragraph explanation of your poster.

o  Explain why you chose the event.

o  What colors you used to represent the emotions of the event.

o  Why you chose the colors you did.

·  You MUST be creative. Neatness and quality will count.

·  DUE October 30th. You will give a 1 minute explanation to the class explaining your project to the class.
