Congratulations on your appointment as the mathematician and leader for your research team. As a mathematician you are experienced in most areas of mathematics but you are considered an expert by your peers in the areas of space and measurement.

In your role as the mathematician you will be responsible for helping your team use mathematical skills to answer any mathematical problems and tasks that you may encounter throughout your expedition. As the team leader you must ensure that all team members participate, be active learners and show respect for each other. If you feel comfortable, you can also offer extra support to team members who may be having difficulties.

Research Team Cartographer

Congratulations on your appointment as the cartographer and scribe for your research team. As a cartographer you are an expert at making and reading different maps, but your particular area of interest is creating and reading maps for theme parks and zoos.

As a cartographer and scribe you are responsible for helping your team, create, read and document any travel you and your team makes on your expedition. You will also be responsible for helping your team document any other written information that you encounter throughout the expedition tasks. To be an effective cartographer and scribe you will need to possess the following qualities:

· a strong work ethic

· an ability to work as part of a team

· good interpersonal and communication skills

· a good understanding of geography

· taking a careful attitude toward presentation

· well developed listening skills

Research Team Zoologist

Congratulations on your appointment as the zoologist and manager for your research team. In your job as a zoologist you have a very good understanding of all living and extinct animals and their characteristics and behaviours; however your particular area of expertise is identifying and creating the most appropriate habitat for animals.

As a zoologist and manager you will be responsible for helping your team stay on task and motivated so they are able to complete the expedition. To be an effective zoologist and manager you will need to display the qualities of;

· good interpersonal and communication skills

· a love and knowledge of animals

· good time management skills

· an ability to motivate a team

Research Team Reporter

Congratulations on your appointment as the journalist and speaker for your research team. As a journalist you are responsible for informing others about current events, people and trends. As a reporter, your particular area of expertise is in the collection and presentation of your ideas and the ideas of others.

In your role as a reporter and speaker you will be responsible for collecting and presenting the ideas and responses of your team to other research teams and the staff at Australia Zoo. To be an effective reporter and speaker you will need to display qualities including:

· a good speaking voice

· well developed listening skills
