Job Description

Director of Operations PURPOSE AND SCOPE

All Girls Allowed is seeking a Director of Operations to advance our field programs in China: the Baby Shower Gift program, the Orphan Care program, the Anti-Trafficking program and the Defending Mothers program. The Director will play a key role in advancing AGA’s objectives in China to rescue girls and mothers from gendercide and the One-Child Policy. The Director will also be tasked with expanding our programs, creating new innovations to improve these programs, and managing all personnel in China. The Director will work closely with U.S. staff to determine the goals and vision of our work in China.

A secondary objective of the Director of Operations is to work with Chinese nationals to find cases of injustice and generate articles, photos, videos and other media to effectively communicate these injustices to an international audience. The Director of Operations will primarily be responsible for a number of tasks including, but not limited to, the following:

1.)Supervising Field Operations in China

2.)Recruiting Churches to Coordinate New Projects in China

3.)Evaluating and Assessing Effectiveness of Field Operations

4.)Training Foreign Missionaries to China about All Girls Allowed’s Work

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct the operations of AGA’s field work in China
  • Supervise over a dozen staff and volunteers in mainland China, including creating a reporting structure and setting up managers within China
  • Collect information from field programs on a regular basis and ensure that programs are operating smoothly
  • Ensure that all China operations are adequately funded and resourced
  • Work closely with U.S. staff to most effectively communicate the impact of our programs in China
  • Partner closely with Chinese churches to advance the mission of All Girls Allowed
  • Recruit new workers within China that are committed to AGA’s mission statement and core values
  • Serve as primary outreach coordinator to Chinese media in the U.S., China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and other countries
  • Write press releases based on AGA or third-party content to generate Chinese media press
  • Keep running database of Chinese contacts and build that database through networking and regular consistent outreach
  • Provide occasional administrative and translation support to AGA’s Executive Director
  • Minister spiritually to the teams in China

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated experience with media outreach to the Chinese press in the U.S. and/or abroad
  • Fluency in Mandarin Chinese in reading/writing (typing) as well as speaking/listening
  • Proven ability to communicate orally in a clear and persuasive manner
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with diverse network
  • Familiar with basic computer operations (e-mail, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Experience working with an NGO and understanding of NGO’s a plus
  • Already established network of existing contacts in China a plus (particularly among Chinese church)
  • Ability to speak and understand other Chinese dialects a plus

CRITICAL QUALITIES

  • Mature evangelical Christian faith as defined by the Apostle’s Creed
  • Active involvement in a local church and experience in Christian ministry
  • Consistent and regular support from a spiritual community
  • Understanding of China’s One-Child Policy and its effects
  • Complete adherence to All Girls Allowed’s mission, programs and strategies
  • Ability to self-manage and generate concrete plan based on broad vision
  • Disciplined with priorities and ability to multi-task
  • Commitment to building a team environment with strong reliance on prayer, spiritual discernment and entrepreneurship

ORGANIZATION INFORMATION

  • Full-time position in Boston office
  • This position is required to raise financial support for a portion of their salary, the remainder is matched by All Girls Allowed (see the Job Application Form for more info)
