ONLINE VS. PAPER ENTRY PRIMARY LIMITS
Kenai Kennel Club is accepting online entries through K9trialsonline.com©. During the first 48 hours after opening, the initial limit of entries designated as either online entries or paper entries will be as follows: Online Entries: 50%; Paper entries: 50%. If either form of entry has not filled at the end of the 48-hour time period, the club reserves the right to adjust the limits as they see fit.
Jump Height Cards: All dogs (except with AKC jump height cards) MUST be measured by the judge before their firstrun. Measuring will take place at 7:30 a.m. If your dog is measured into a taller jump class, he must be moved up into it at the trial. If your dog is measured down, he cannot move into a lower jump class!
NEW Simplified Jump Height Card Process
When filling out the entry form, there is a new section at the top of the form for exhibitors to designate whether your dog has a valid jump height card or if your dog needs to be measured. Please check the appropriate box so that the Trial Secretary knows whether to include your dog on the Dogs To Be Measured List. It is no longer required that you submit a copy of your dog’s jump height card with your entry form or show it during day of show check-in.
Maximum entries per envelope: A maximum of 10 entries per envelope is allowed. Envelopes with more than 10 entries and/or entries received prior to the opening date will be returned. If necessary, a draw for an alternate’s list will be held from the remaining entries after limits have been reached.
Move-Ups: Move ups to a higher class will be allowed if received by the trial secretary in writing by Monday, August 30, 2010,before6 p.m. AST. E-mail, snail mail or fax (907-262-5032) is acceptable. Move-ups for Saturday & Sunday will be allowed if received by the trial secretary in writing within 30 minutes of the end of judging Friday or Saturday at the trial site.
Walk-through and warm-ups: Handlers in all classes will be permitted to walk the course without a dog prior to the start of the class. A warm-up area consisting of a single regulation agility jump will be provided.
Classes: It is the exhibitor’s responsibility to enter the dog in the correct class. The trial secretary cannot make any changes (except for move-ups) after the closing date of the trial. It is the exhibitor’s responsibility to check in with the gate steward and be at the ring gate when it is their turn to run. Attempts will be made to accommodate conflicts; however the judge is not obligated to wait for any exhibitor.
Since there will be a VMO at the trial, all dogs entered will need to be measured for their permanent AKC jump card, if they don’t already have one. This includes dogs jumping at the 24” and 26” height.
Awards: Ribbons will be awarded to 1st through 4th place dogs with qualifying scores in each regular class and jump height. Green qualifying ribbons will be awarded to all dogs receiving a qualifying score.
Trophies: First place in each class will be awarded a dog toy of $2 to $5 value. MACH and titling ribbons will be awarded.
Catalogs: In order to keep costs down, we are asking those interested in catalogs to pre-pay at the rate of $7 each. See entry form for pre-order information. There will be a limited number of catalogs available for sale the day of the trial.
Dogseligible to enter: This trial is open to all dogs fifteen (15) months of age or older that are registered with the American Kennel, have AKC Limited Registration, Purebred Alternative Listing/Indefinite Listing Privileges (PAL/ILP),an AKC Canine Partners listing number or approved Foundation Stock Service (FSS) breeds. There is a 50% refund for bitches in season.Mixed breed dogs that have been listed with AKC Canine Partners may participate provided their listing number has been recorded on the entry form.
Blind, lame or aggressive dogs and bitches in season are ineligible to compete.
Important Information for Exhibitors:
Conditional, unsigned, incomplete, illegible, telephone, fax or telegraph entries cannot be accepted. Overnight mail entries should have the “no signatures” box checked. Entries not on an AKC form (that includes the disclaimer form on the back) are not acceptable.
Confirmation of entries will be e-mailed within a day or so of receipt as they are entered into the computer. Final entry confirmation and judging schedule will be e-mailed or sent to the entry address as soon as possible after the closing date. If you have not received confirmation at least 7 days prior to the show, contact the trial secretary. Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry.
Dogs must be on leash at all times, except when in the ring or at practice jumps.
There will be no refunds for entries withdrawn after the closing date with one exception. Handlers with bitches, that come into heat after the closing date and before or during the trial, may receive a refund of half the entry fee with written notice from the owner given to the trial secretary. If the dog/handler is dismissed from the competition, regardless of the reason, there will be no refund.
Dogs under 6 months of age are prohibited at AKC Agility Trials.

Event cancellation: If because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open or complete the trial, no refund of entry will be made. The well-being of the dogs, exhibitors and spectators is of paramount importance, and in the event it is necessary to cancel or stop the event before completion, no refund of entry will be made.
Exhibitors should follow their veterinarians’ recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases and have appropriate vaccinations.
Time 2 Beat (T2B) Demo - 9/4/10 after last class. The cost will be $5, with all of the fees being donated to AKC for the World Team.Time 2 Beat is a "hybrid" class built primarily from obstacles from Jumpers With Weaves, with the option of having one of two contacts included on the course. This class is unique, as each dog has the chance to set the "Time to Beat" for each jump height division. This is different than the current AKC classes (Standard and JWW) where the Standard Course Time (SCT) is set by the course yardage as wheeled by the judge.
