KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare documentation and make necessary arrangements in preparation for Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) review meetings.
  • Facilitate EHCP review meetings, ensuring that the meetings are fully documented and EHCP paperwork is fully populated.
  • Ensure that any students classed as High Needs have the appropriate audit trail
in place and support the Assistant Head of Inclusive Learning to ensure Local Authority funding is claimed, as detailed.
  • Write reports and documents associated with the identification of learning outcomes, monitoring of support and reviewing of progress for young people with additional learning needs.
  • Attend transition events within College and externally.
  • Attend interviews for prospective students.
  • Provide information, advice and guidance to students entering the workplace.
  • Deal with enquiries from students requiring support, teaching and support staff and outside agencies.

  • Ensure that student files have the necessary auditable evidence and carry out regular file audits, following up any anomalies.
  • Assist with exam timetabling arrangements and exam access arrangements.
  • Carry out transition activities to support young people with additional requirements into college.

DUTIES
  • Deal with enquiries from students requiring support, teaching and support staff and outside agencies.
  • Attend annual reviews in schools and other learning providers and keep records of these reviews.
  • Follow up any queries, requests for evidence, as required.
  • Liaise with Local Authorities regarding Education, Health and Care Plans and High Needs funding.
  • Work closely with members of the Inclusive Learning team regarding student support and transition.
  • Contribute to the EHC Plans relating to education and support provision.
  • Co-ordinate and lead Education, Health and Care Plan reviews with direction from the Assistant Head of Inclusive Learning.
  • Attend interviews for prospective students.
  • Arrange taster visits/days for prospective students, parents and school groups for those with learning difficulties and disabilities.
  • Attend College Open Days, Transition events and School events as required.
  • Support students who wish to apply for Disabled Student Allowances with IAG and liaise with curriculum staff regarding support arrangements.
  • Provide IAG on learning difficulties and disabilities and on the College provision of inclusive learning.
  • Deal with enquiries from students and tutors regarding inclusive learning support in a knowledgeable and supportive manner.
  • Be involved with the timetabling of inclusive learning staff to meet the needs of students requiring support and ensure staff timetables are kept updated on a monthly basis
  • Audit the eILP’s details of inclusive learning support and ensure that information on support is kept up – to - date as necessary for individual students. Documentary evidence needs to be in place and available for auditors at all times.
  • Ensure that inclusive learning staff input their hours correctly and that these match their paperwork and contracted/agreed hours.
  • Support the Exam Access Coordination team with arrangements for students for assessments and examinations, including the timetabling of invigilators, readers and scribes.
  • Provide invigilation and reader/scribe support for students.
  • Provide new inclusive learning staff with an induction programme that includes IAG around the recording of learning support and the recording of support provision.

A probationary period of nine months applies to new entrants to the College / All post holders are expected to be of a professional and presentable appearance

The appointment is subject to the receipt of satisfactory references, medical clearance and Disclosure & Barring Service check/ISA (if applicable).
Occupational Sick pay is not paid during the first four months of service and thereafter is subject to the College’s Sick Pay Scheme
Please note that with effect from 01 November 2013 all new employees of the College will be required to pay for their DBS check (at present £44.00 for an enhanced level check).
Should your application be successful the College will process and pay for the DBS check on the employees behalf. The fee will then be deducted from the employee’s first salary.
