DEVELOPMENTAL ACTIVITIES OF SCHEDULED CASTE DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT KARIMNAGAR DISTRICT FOR THE YEAR 2015-16

1) POPULATION AS PER 2011 CENSES

SC Population of Karimnagar district is 6.50 lakhs (Male: 3.26 +Female 3.24). (% SC population 18.61%)

2) i) HOSTELS:

In Karimnagar district (71) Boys hostels, (24) Girls hostels, (3) Anandanilayams, (2) IWHCs (One for Boys One for Girls) total (100) hostels are functioning with a strength of Girls (1717) Boys (4006) Total (5723) boarders. The fresh admissions of boarders are being admitted into SC hostels for 2015-16. The following facilities are being provided in the hostels.

Diet chargers from 3rd to 7th class @Rs. 750/- and 8th to 10th class @Rs.850/- .

Cosmetic charges for Boys:@ Rs.62/- per month to the borders studying from 3rd to 10th class.

Cosmetic charges for Girls: 3rd to 7th classes @ Rs.55/- and 8th to 10th Classes Rs.75/-.

Note Books, Text Books, Bedding material, 2 pairs, Dresses 4 pairs have been distributed to the inmates.

Tutors were appointed for special coaching for 10th class boarders in ‘4’ subject @Rs.1500/- per tutor.

The programme for providing of Super fine Rice launched from 01-01-2015 and providing meals (5801) S.W. hostel boarders with monthly consumption of (870.15) quintals and for SW DAH College hostels boarders (1772) with monthly consumption (318.96) quintals.

iii) BIO-METRIC DEVICE SYSTEM IN S.W.HOSTELS:

(78) Govt. SW Hostels provided with Bio-Metric Machines, as against the (98) hostels and the HWOs concerned were also given training classes by the Trainees. Instructions have been issued to HWOs to enroll Aadhar No. of all boarders and start taking attendance with Biometric devises immediately. So far (1819) Aadar Enrolled in the S.W. hostels.

ii)NEW HOSTELS

The Govt. have sanctioned the following Govt. hostel buildings for construction under SCSP scheme 2013-14 in place of dilapidated buildings.

  3. Govt.SWBH Huzurabad.

iii)The Govt. have sanctioned for construction of New hostel buildings.

  1. SWBH Durshed, 2. SWBH Kamalapur 3. Keshavapatnam (occupied) 4. SWBH Bheemdeverpally 5.SWBH Vangara 6. SWBH Gannervaram 7.SWGH Jammikunta 8.SWGH Gangaram 9.SWGH Dharmapuri (occupied). One at Durshed not started for want of suitable stie at ZPSS premises. The progress furnished in the separate statement.

4) PRE-MATRIC SCHOLARSHIPS

The Director (SCDD) has not released for sanction of pre-matric scholarships to SC students studying 9th & 10th class during the year 2013-2014. However budget requirement for 2013-14 requirement has been submitted.

(iii)BEST AVAILABLE SCHOOLS SCHEME ( RESIDENTIAL)

For the year 2015-16 (622) SC students from Class 5th to 10th Class under Renewal & Fresh are studying in (7) Best available Schools (Residential ) in the district. Each boarder is being sanctioned @Rs.20,000/- per annum. The Director, SCDD TS Hyderabad has released Rs. 66.40 lakhs for this year. Released an amount of Rs. 50.70 lakhs to (507) Renewal students.

(iv) BEST AVAILABLE SCHOOLS SCHEME (NON RESIDENTIAL)

The Govt. have introduced the new scheme Best Available Schools (Non-Residential Schools scheme). The (13) Schools have been selected by the State Level Committee in the district for admission of (100) SC children. (Each boarder is being sanctioned @Rs.20,000/- per annum. For this year academic year 2015-16, (100) students under Fresh have been selected through lottery, and allotted to the schools. Total Renewal & Fresh strength is (200). Funds to be released by the Government. The Director, SCDD TS Hyderabad has released for Rs. 20.00 lakhs for this year. Sanctions under process.

v) GOVT. S.W.COLLEGE HOSTELS

(14) Departmental (DAH) hostels (7) for Girls (7) for Boys are functioning in the district. Two hostels are located in Govt. buildings and Govt. buildings are sanctioned for (4) DAHS, (3) at Karimnagar headquarters and (1) at Manthani. (1772) College students are staying in these hostels.

vi) CONSTRUCTION OF S.W. COLLEGE HOSTEL BUILDINGS

The Govt. have sanctioned for construction of NewCollege hostel buildings.

1. SW College (Boys) -I at Karimnagar ( not started) 2.SW College (Boys)-II at Karimnagar (not started) 3.SW College (Girls) Karimnagar 4.SW College (Girls) Manthani (not started). One at started ‘3’ buildings started for want of suitable site.

7) KALAYANA LAKSHIMI PATHAKAM:

The Hostel Welfare Officers should go to the villages meet SC Leaders & Grama Samykhya to explain the incentives of the Govt. for the eligible SC/ST brides.

At least (4) proposals should be submitted in very village.

Should submit the proforma information every day to ASWO concerned.

ASWOs should collect information from HWOs concerned, consolidate and bring it to the office along with their information next date at 10.00 a.m.

The HWOs should achieve the targets fixed by the end of March.

11)AMBEDKAR STUDY CIRCLE:

The Government have sanctioned study circle in Ambekdar Bhavan, Karimnagar for imparting coaching to SC/ST Unemployee Graduates to appear different competitive exams. The study circle will be opening in the month of November/2015.

12. REPAIRS OF GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS:

The Director, SCDD Telangana, Hyderabad has released an amount of Rs. 230.94 lakhs towards minor repairs of (65) Govt. hostel buildings for the year 2015-16. Accordingly administration sanction were issued to the Executive Engineer, TSEWIDC Karimnagar and requesting to complete the repairs in the month of June/2015.
